This episode was so cool. In one of the later episodes we actually see the baby metamorph turning into a mug. Also in the Pacifica mansion dipper turns into the form the metamorph predicts

He also made dipper nearly kill Wendy, have him ACTUALLY swing the axe at her likeness, and painfully portray dipper's real future (temporary) death at the hands of a curse which will agonisingly turn him into wood.

This episode was amazing because the shape-shifter predicted how dipper would technically die and it was exactly how he predicted it in a later episode
