Dmax, bt50 and triton, you dont give more gas and momentum very unfair to that three trucks. Not for the other you give more gas and momentum.

It does not matter what car you have at the end of the day, what actually matters is who is behind the wheel.

It's almost like you learnt how to drive the hill climb after the first 3

Bought a 21 GLS Triton and I've taken it all over tough tracks around Alice Springs and Central Australia STOCK. Never missed a beat and over 10K cheaper than an SR5 with all the same trimmings. Can't beat it in my opinion

Use of more momentum and "extra beans" in the last 4 vehicles which the driver said he had to use should have been used in all of the vehicles. If your going to do it for one you need to do it for all. Fair is Fair.

I
Dmax, triton and bt50 gave almost no gas and no momentum, not a
Really fair test, all those 4x4 should have easily made it up.

Iv taken my stock 2021 Triton GLS to tracks 1000x harder than these and had not a single issue. Personally i loved the 4x4 capabilities and hill decent control. for my budget its perfect and i likely would have chosen it if i had any amount of money.

RPM counter displayed would help legitimise revs given to each vehicle. The first three vehicles did not appear to be given the same throttle encouragement.

Momentum was not given to the dmax, triton and bt50. You gave momenrum to the others....unfair test. 👎👎

Can easily see which ones are ' your favourite brands' doesnt look like fair testing ( more momentum given to your favourites)

The test driver is nervous and loosing momentum....it's the opposite from the results of 4WD 24/7...

Not a bad review apart from the hill challenge. You can't test a 4wd on hills when all the 4wds are using different tyres, the tyres would have a huge impact

Not an equal comparison if you use more momentum with some of the vehicles. And you stated that you did so on that steep uphill.

You should also consider the prices. That GWM did very well for its price

I feel the Triton wasn't given a better opportunity

Crazy how price never comes into the conversation. The GWM is 38, 000 vs 60 to 65, 000 for the others. The Amarok doesn't even have rear airbags a disgrace in 2021.

Dmax/BT50 deserved better. No momentum at all, unlike the others.

I just have to say when you're comparing a GWM that's half the price of a Hilux in the same segment I think you still need to respect it. Someone who is all about camping or off-roading very often then you know where to put your money. But if you're just looking for something around town and use it as a 4wd every now and then then are you really going to go for $80k+?

The first 3 cars on the steep hill were basically crawling at idle going up that hill until this guy used the throttle properly, and he wondered why they didn't make it up 🤦‍♂️

4WD 24/7 the triton killed it offroad, you were going way slower than the hilux and Also testers never talk about the HUGE advantage of having the super select ii feature being able to drive the car in AWD on sealed roads, thats a game changer if you tow or drive on slippery roads.
