Thanks for the great feedback everybody! I mentioned in another comment that once the Amarok launches, we'll re-run these tests with the 70 Series (wasn't available for this test), the LDV T60 Max, Mahindra Pik-Up, Amarok, regular Navara and Ranger bi-turbo.

On the award places - the Jeep was outright winner for obvious reasons. Raptor got best value on the basis that it has all of the off-road equipment you need to go off-road without modifying the vehicle - to get anywhere near this level of equipment you'd need to buy the Jeep, which already took out the main prize, or modify one of the other utes, which would void warranty.

And in the four-cylinder category, it was a very close placement between Navara and Triton. Ultimately it went to the Navara because it comes out of the factory with the added off-road gear that won't void the warranty.

On tyres - as we said in the test, we wanted to test these straight out of the factory. By fitting all terrain tyres to each vehicle, we no longer have a vehicle that is as you can buy off the dealer floor. These are very light off-road tests that any dual-cab ute and any driver should be able to do without needing all-terrain tyres.

How did the Triton pass everything and made it look easier then Raptor but it still didn’t even get a mention at the end 😂 … something fishy here with Paul having a raptor …

The Triton is such a great offering. Affordable, strong, reliable and a quality 4x4.

triton killed that uphill challenge like its driving in a straight gravel road... mitsubishis 4wd super select really is a legend since the 90s...

Wait, surely the Triton should've gotten the best value? It was basically walking around the terrain

Just from your video, I would have guessed the Triton would have taken the 4cyl offroad group.
Looked like it did it so much easier than the Navara.

I think you underrated the Triton. Its 4x4 system is one of the best. The ability to drive in 4wd on sealed roads comes in very handy..

I work on a mine site in west aus - we got a new fleet of 12 rangers and they have all started having issues around the 2 year mark, mostly electrical issues/corrosion etc. We are a small time mine and got a good deal on rangers which is why we opted that way but our old fleet of 23 hiluxs are still going fine at 5-7 years old. Different cars, under same conditions. There is a reason why mines buy toyota, we just learnt the harder way.

Great Video and again the Triton smashed it mixing it with the best Utes in this test. Why were you so surprised it has always had one of the best off road credentials and still remains one of the best Utes that money can buy. Cheers 🍻

The Fail group should totally hire Mitsubishi Test Engineers to calibrate their traction control systems!!

Triton, Hilux and Navara would last for a long time with minimum repair. while others will cost you a fortune to keep em running. specially jeeps. we all know they love mechanics. I would choose a Hilux or Triton any day

Great review btw <3 <3

Love how he was pleasantly surprised by all of them, except the hilux “yeah it just did what it’s supposed to do” haha that’s why they’re the go to choice

With respect, how can you say that the Raptor is the value option, when it didn’t conquer the hill on all terrains without the front diff locked, and the far cheaper and more economical to run Triton got the job done on a cheap set of highway tyres? The Raptor is undoubtedly way more fun, but I struggle to see how it represents better value.

Mitsubishi Super Select has been great always and it is the reason to go for it, the only 4h permanent for more security while driving

Those American trucks do an amazing job considering their tyres and the sheer size of them. I feel like the US culture with desert racing has really helped their development when it comes to off-roading.

Just recently found your channel, I follow alot of automotive channels and I must say this is the best when it comes the real information we need as buyers, no useless comedic comments just straight up facts on whether a car is good or not. From South Africa, we have alot of versions of vehicles the same as yours here.Enjoying the vids best 4x4 comparison Test video I have seen.

Paul, I think you need to rewatch this test. Neither the Raptor or the Navara looked like the winners of this test. All of the American rigs looked better on test, and Triton and Rubicon should have been the only utes mentioned in the winners list.

How is the raptor good value? It's like 100 grand! The triton is good value.

That Mitsubishi Triton/L200 was spectacular. I had high hopes for it and it came through. I also had high hopes for the Isuzu D'max and it can be better. But WOW!!! The Triton was amazing.
