What makes the most sense to me is calling it a "bathroom" if it has a bath or a shower, but calling it a "washroom" if it doesn't have those things.

The public bathroom at our district office has a shower head and i regularly take showers there during my graveyard shift. Idk what's so weird about it. It's there for a reason.
