How to grow an avocado plant from a seed!

I'm growing another avocado plant because I just planted my last one in some soil so hopefully this one grows good as well!

Avocado seed is so forgiving that it doesn't need any toothpicks or glasses of water. I don't even peel them. I just throw them in a ziplock bag that has little bit water on the bottom. At the moment I have 10 in a bag. First 4 that went in the bag 3 weeks ago have roots already. My first ever Avocado is now 6 ft tall and already grafted.

I put my avocado in a zip lock bag w a bit of water and put in a dark cupboard that I don’t open often. Two to three weeks and it’s ready to be planted w the butt down and plant w half of the avocado still out of the dirt. Water a lot!!

One word of caution aspiring growers. As with many other fruit trees, to get a tree that will actually produce edible fruit, you have to graft your root stock (the seed you sprouted) to a stem from a reliable fruiting tree. The chances of growing a tree that will produce edible fruit from a seed is roughly 1:1000. It may seem odd, but the seed from a good piece of fruit is very unlikely to grow into a viable fruit tree.

I grow mine differently first I
Soak it in water for 1-2 hours and then peel off the outer layer and after that then I put it in dirt and it sprouts I have 2 giant almost 2 ft tall trees

I have some tips for avacadoes! I think it would've grew faster if you wrapped it in a damp napkin first and when you put them in napkins I recommend to wait until you see a very small root and then I recommend putting in water like you just did after it grows a root.

If you don't have toothpicks you can cut an empty waterbottle ( about 2-3 inches from the opening) Place the part you drink out of face down( w/o the cap on) in your glass, jar, whatever you have. Fill the container with water and place your seed in (only works with seeds that are bigger than the opening of the waterbottle)

This works! Just be patient with it. It will split open, shoot a root out the bottom, and then will eventually stem & leaf. We started ours in January and it's June...and "Harvacado" has 5 leaves and stands 6" tall. =)

i put mine in damp paper toeel check in on them when they sprout i plant them into dirt it grows much faster then in water

Left my seeds in a box drying for about 1 month before peeling or adding water hopefully they grow
