What a unique movie - nothing gets resolved - it just exposes everyone’s weaknesses and pains

Devastating scene which I really didn't see coming. The look on Clooney's face as he slowly backs away

The worst part is that she was ready to move on and resume their fling like nothing happened

Just when Ryan realized what he is needed and who he needs to be on his life, things went abrupt for him. This is such a brilliant plot twist. And George reminded me of Cary Grant in this movie, like in this scene. Cary would almost to the same thing George did here, his body language, confusing stares, voice tone.

The movie had to have this ending. He had been suppressing his real feelings all along. He wished to be with someone. He played it off like he didn’t while choosing this specific lifestyle. When he found someone and found out he couldn’t be with them and even worse, they had their own life, he felt like his entire world was empty.

Clooney's performance in this film was truly wonderful. His nuance here is heartbreaking.

"tell me what you want" we see his eyes say he doesnt want to be alone "you don't even know what you want".

I feel like I had my heart kicked in by Mike Tyson.

If not for this plot twist the movie wouldn’t have been as good. You truly feel and connect with Ryan’s pain in this scene. Also, Alex belonged to the streets smh

when i watched this scene for the first time initially felt sorry for clooney's character as we're watching his pov but then later I thought about the clueless husband who thinks his wife does no wrong and infact has been cheating on him for years....because clooney isn't the first guy she's hooked up with on her trips

Dang...Alex's husband must be about the most clueless dude on the planet. No telling how many guys have given the purple headed yogurt slinger to his wife

This is why men are told not to fight or kill each other over a woman..

I like how the movie portrays her as the ultimate “cool” woman every man wants to hook up with
Specially when she says something like “I’m you but with a vagina”
And we go trough the movie as in his eyes and POV, so we are idealizing her just as much as him... even though we’ve been warned about her intentions

Bro, the fact that she says “what do you want?” and “well, I’m a grown up...”..oof I’m fuming

I watched this in 2010 and got so bored with the movie. I was in my late 20s. I watched it again the other day and it hit me so hard. I'm 40 now, single and childfree by choice. I've been cheated on in a relationship where I gave it all, in fact more than I could I feel. I was the most vulnerable with her than anyone else I have been with but...

What a movie. Ryan has this while philosophy of being lightweight in life, no commitment and that changes and in the end his heart is broken. His sister is having a trial separation and Alex turns out to be a cheat. Not only is Ryan's heart broken but eventually her husband will get to know. On one hand it makes you want to yearn for love and family through Ryan but Alex's character and Ryan's sister's life makes it seem not worth it.

Brilliant movie. I guess movies, songs hit different at different ages as we experience life.
