no wonder Marie-Louise von franz considered Jung as up there with the greats like Lao Tzu/Buddha/Jesus, the kind of people that only come once every thousands of years. I've never felt more understood than from the words of Jung himself. It boggles my mind how he knew such things of the mind, like the unconscious, introverted intution, shadow, anima animus etc thatre so veiled and fleeting in nature and cannot necessarily be seen or touched physically. A true pioneer indeed.

How can we tell which is intuition and which is an impression based on trauma, that is, the psyche trying to keep (us) safe… which adds another question: perhaps in this instance we Do need to not allow ourselves to enter a situation that appears similar to that which caused us whatever harm, however long ago?

I thought myself an intuitive type just by discarding the others and because the sensation function is the one I'm the worst at. But I don't have good instincts nor do I have those hunches. How does one develop the intuitive function?

Having lived long enough and having my fill I find it all lacking. For the sake of simplicity I will use terminology I believe the good doctor would understand. Thy will not mine be done. None of these worldly riches interest me anymore. I find myself meditating so much more once I quit meditating. All thought now pointed inward towards His will leaves all other thoughts just whispers. It feels like I've jumped off the top of a mountain and I don't fear the fall. As I see through myself I see through all. It's like the game where you put a playing card on your forehead for all to see except yourself. I know mine, it's all of them.

i have a question -the part where he said "we don't need that function very much", does he mean that in the past(previous generations) used this function very much, precisely because they were mostly in danger?

Some has a more advanced intuition than others, knowing without knowing and then acting. In some cases lets say it is the husband that has a more advanced intuition regarding the future, the wife may not share it and they'll be incompatible, therefore a rather dysfunctional family.

Intuition is a bad counselor. Any mathematician will tell you.
