Is it just me or sometimes when you wake up from a sleep paralysis it’s kinda like you’re being pulled back in and falling back into another sleep paralysis against your own will no matter how hard you try to wake yourself up and move.

I recently experienced this a few minutes ago. It is absolutely horrifying. No horror movie can match the terror I've experienced.

I had sleeping paralysis several times.. and honestly its a terrifying feeling, especially for first timers.. I found out myself a way to possibly avoid it and thats by quickly react before getting into the stage of feeling pressure.. all I do is open my eyes if closed and move my arm slightly and just quickly turn around to the other side.. that usually cuts it off for me.

I get sleep paralysis 2 to 3 times a week ever since I was a kid. I only had one hallucination though, where a black shadow was walking towards my bed while hearing something talking in my ear, I was so scared my heart was beating so fast. I always get the feeling of something evil that is trying to possess me that I can't see. Most people don't understand how terrifying this is until they experience it. Keep up the great work! I had sleep paralysis 5 times in a row a few nights ago. Worst night I have ever had I thought I was being watched and attacked and felt fingers tapping on my legs.

Does anyone else not feel demons or out of body but like a vibration? Like an electrical feeling?

How can anyone love this? Does no one else have episodes accompanied with a terrifying nightmare that is extremely vivid? I just woke up from one and it felt so real. I was petrified for a minute or two, trying to gather my thoughts on what I had just witnessed.

I experienced sleep paralysis when i was a teenager, i woke up and couldnt move or scream, and i felt an evil presence in my room, i always kept it to myself because i thought no one would believe me, it truly is terrifying and i understand how others with this condition felt.

I got sleep paralysis at 4:am this morning. I was hyperventilating and felt like something was crushing my chest. I felt like someone was watching me and that made me really uncomfortable. I tried to keep my eyelids open for as long as i can but they felt too heavy. I couldn’t move a thing and that freaked me out. I’m now really scared to go back to sleep

I've experienced this a couple of times in my life and it's truly terrifying. I believe the reason we are paralyzed is for our protection. I know when it's about to begin. My eyes get heavy and I start to blink rapidly because I try to fight it. The pressure on my chest and the room start to get darker. I say a prayer internally and I come back to my normal state. It's truly frightening 😑

Sleep paralysis used to scare me as a kid but now I love it because I know my physical body is completely paralysed and relaxed. I feel even more comfy and go back to sleep.

I feel like I've had this so many times that I'm not scared anymore lol. I'm just like hey demons what's up 😂

I feel like explanations like these are an attempt to rationalize something we don't understand. I just don't comprehend how the majority of people who experience sleep paralysis report seeing similar things in this state. The experience is always negative rather than positive. Maybe something else is going on or maybe I'm overthinking it. What do you guys think?
Edit: I have only experienced this once and I sympathize those of you who go through this constantly. It is an absolutely terrifying experience that I hope to never experience again.

Been having this since I was about 15. I’m 22 now and it’s gotten worse since my dad passed. I truly think depression causes a lot of it.
