I've had this for years. I've come to find it to be more of an annoyance than scary

I always get sleep paralysis everytime I wake from a nap and then go back to nap again. I usually can move my toes but nothing else.

There is an easy trick to break the sleep and get up.. You would have realized that either your toe or little finger or fingers will only move during the time. So all you have to do is keep moving the finger or fingers (whatever is free to move at the time ) as fast as possible and wake yourself up. That's all.. all the best folks. It works for me and hope it works for you too..

I get this at least 3 times a week and it sucks! I have these episodes so much that I’m used to it now. I’ve tried everything to prevent it. I know people say try not to sleep on your back and I tried sleeping on my side and still get sleep paralysis. It’s so frustrating because I hate having this feeling. I just want peaceful sleep like normal people 🤦🏾‍♀️😩

I've had sleep paralysis for YEARS. it started when I was 13, snd frequented until I was 16. The reason why it was so bad back then is because I had a messed up sleep schedule (constant changing of 4 hours to 9 hours of sleep between days). I'm now 22, I comstantly get around 7-8 hours of sleep, and I get them only when I nap and/or am dreaming. Sometimes, I hallucinate sounds, figures, false occurances (i.e. Thinking my fiancé had awakened me only to find his behavior odd and his voice slightly off. Then waking up a few secs/mins later to see he was asleep the whole time and I was un SP). Sometimes after I finally manage to snap out of it, ny whole body either feels sore or tingly. Its happened to me so many times, I either stop it before it happens or just ride it out (though, impatiently). SP is a truly crazy roller coaster man :/

I just woke up from it. I reccomend continue sleeping. Not doing anything. Not opening your eyes, no, you'll just scare yourself. I know it's horrible, just ... Try to not open your eyes and sleep

I have suffered with chronic sleep paralysis for 6 years now and when I talk with my dr about it, he shrugs it off. It’s to the point that when I go to bed and I feel it coming, I wake my partner up and ask him to hold my hand and if he feels my fingers trying to twitch to wake me up by shaking me. It seems to do the trick and I eventually fall asleep after a few tries. I really wish it would just go away.

I had this last night. I sometimes have it but it’s only lasts for 10 seconds and I kinda fall back asleep. Last night it seemed to last for hours. I can’t describe it...but I could feel myself being lifted from my bed like floating is what it felt like. I tried to scream for my mom but couldn’t open my mouth or move. It was so realistic and I could see everything happening. At one point I felt like something grabbed my feet and started slowly pulling me off the bed. Ik it sounds so unbelievable but that’s exactly what happened. I wish there was a video camera in my room so I could see if what I was seeing was really tgere & if I was lifting my legs and that’s what made me feel like I was floating or just my mind playing tricks. So terrifying. Only happens when I sleep on my back or when my face is kinda in my pillow and I can’t breathe.

I believed my Dr until my friend stayed around mine, we both slept in sleeping bags next to each other on the floor, we both sat bolt upright at exactly the same time at 3:30am having both experienced the exact same thing. A dark demon type thing sucking all moon/street light from the room, unable to move or make a sound, it was lurching over us...when it released us both we both jumped up, looked at each other and couldn’t believe what had just happened. So no I don’t believe the drs explanation is all there is to it. We had never spoken of this kind of thing before hand.

I am aware my technique to stop sleep paralysis by sleeping with my bible on my chest is psychosomatic, the comfort it gives alleviates my fear.

I get it after heavy binge drinking and the older I get the longer the paralysis last. It happens when I’m hungover and I’ve overslept the whole next day. Scares feel like I’m paralysed for good. I don’t see no monsters or nothing just see my room.
