Would they accept 2 years if your school does offer more but you weren't able to take more because of scheduling?

Seriously, foreign language is highly underrated. I can count on one hand how many times I’ve had to use high school math in the real world while Spanish has saved me from some very awkward situations

Would taking 4 credits of a foreign language over 2 years be the same as what the school means by taking 4 years of a language?

You literally have to be perfect for harvard. That level of pretentiousness is just not for me

I mean in Switzerland we have to learn english from 2nd grade on- so no matter what in Switzerland you will have four years and in 4th grade you’ll learn French till you get through the school you have to

Would Harvard accept 3? Because I didn’t get the hang of highschool until a counselor came in one day and explained it to us

We only have Spanish in my high school and I would by FAR be more engaged if I was able to do foreign language online so that I can actually learn something I want to

So I’m from a country where we have another language as our mother-tongue, I have learned that language since i could probably speak and I have learnt English for, now, 12 years, and I still have 4 more years of school. There’s also an option of third language for our school and I’ve been learning French for, now, 4 years and I will most likely take it for at least 1-2 more years. But for those who hadn’t taken the third language, would our mother-tongue count as the ‘foreign language’ ?

I’m required to as an IB student lol, so by graduation I will have 6 or 7 (depending if 6th grade counted) language credits

Why the foreign language requirement? Albert Einstein was horrible at languages. "If you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its life tjinking that it's stupid".

My mom has always HEAVILY emphasized languages on college applications, so I'm going to continue taking Spanish throughout high school, though I enjoy it so I probably would anyway :)

So glad my middle school had me take foreign language. I took a year of Latin in sixth grade, and two years of Spanish during years 7 and 8. I plan on taking Spanish until I am fluent and then taking some french. I will most likely take more Latin courses as well because I learned nothing in my 6th grade year lol.
