You're one of my biggest running heroes, Sage!! Thanks for being so true to the sport!

Thanks for your honesty sage, your success on the roads has proved to me that a natural, clean lifestyle can still make it to the top.

Wow! Im a first season cross country runner, and some of your videos have been so helpful and inspirational!

Thanks for this, Sage. Have you seen Tyler Hamilton's book and interviews that he's done. Eye opening stuff.

Like with Armstrong, they should hold samples for 10 years and test old samples as new technology becomes available. If there are any positives, victories should be vacated and heavy fines imposed.

I respect any athlete who is willing to compete clean. Thank you for being an elite athlete who is a good example and the reasons it makes sense to be clean.

Its not the fact that it does / doesn't prove your a drug cheat that is admirable here. Its the fact that you are prepared to put your information out there. If we had more pro athletes that had the attitude of publishing results/training/anything there is less likelihood of cover ups/corruption... Doesn't prove anything other than you are a pro athlete worth supporting !!!

I'm glad you're forthright about the limitations of your health/nutrition knowledge. Everyone online, even vegans, want people to accept things as indisputable fact even when the science simply isn't there.

I 100% agree with what you said. I started running and working out in general (besides to stay healthy) to see what my body could do! Don't know how anyone could compete and be okay with basically being a fraud. When you take drugs, it isn't you running or competing, it's the drug.

Thank you for speaking from your heart!

I think the problem with cheating is that people cheat everywhere. They cheat in school, they cheat at work, they plagiarize, steal others' ideas, etc. That's why the tolerance for cheating in sports is so high. Since so many people cheat in everyday life, they don't care if athletes cheat too. Very few people have high morals like you, Sage, and they would do anything to get ahead be it in sport or otherwise. Like you said, tests are not very useful. The only way to have clean sports is to teach good values to athletes, but unfortunately winning takes all precedent. One solution would be to automatically suspend a coach if one of their athletes fails a test, even if the coach is innocent. This will make the athlete think twice about doping and coaches will encourage clean sports more.

I agree with your stance and I think it's great that you're speaking out about it. I actually never thought about it taking away competitors' income before- that would piss me off too! Also so glad to see other vegan athletes out there 👍🏼

I think the blood test for most runners/athletes is a good idea to make sure of electrolyte levels. I think it is a good idea to have potassium, magnesium, iron, calcium and other vitamin levels checked so people know how much hydration/ nutrition needs they may have.

the whole situation is rather scary when you consider usada in the ufc. when money is at stake even a 40k test (what chael claims the costs are) can hit stuff other tests won't but also nail guys for things like too much coffee. i appreciate the effort you go through to keep the sport clean. i hope the race directors all hop on board and standardize something like this... as the money stakes increase the incentive to gain advantages only will increase as well

Appreciate your videos Sage. How do you feel about Galen Rupp, Alberto Salazar, and the whole Nike team being under investigation? His blood tests show he's been taking test, but has a TUE from good old Nike staff Dr Jeffrey Brown. Honestly his times are superhuman. Seems like EVERY Olympian is a doper. Period.
I honestly don't care, but I'm tired of them pretending like if I work hard, I could run a 14min 5K.

Caffeine really helps me a lot. I wonder if there is a maximum legal amount you can have in your system at any one time.

Great video and keeping an open dialogue on the subject. Hey where can I get that from??

As a t1 diabetic, I would "fail" this blood test horribly. Luckily, I won't soon be competing for money. Admire what you're doing and best of luck.

I wonder if the sponsors should do more. I'd had a lot more respect for any company like Hoka if they kept their own athletes clean and conducted their own tests.

Thanks, Sage. I think you should ask your old friend Galen for a little boost though. I mean, you could actually become a fast 10 k runner for a change
