This video highlights the KEY blood tests to help improve your health. Of course you can chose pay for extra tests, but as I explain later in the video, that might not be particularly helpful.

I find it hard to find doctors that want to write these tests unless they suspect any medical issues related to them. Otherwise they think its a waste of time and resources

41 year old women here - I recently had a comprehensive blood and stool test (paid for it myself privately)
It included micronutrient results. Despite eating a wholefood diet, and taking a good quality multi vitamin the results showed several chronic deficiencies - vitamin D, magnesium, progesterone to name a few.

I had been feeling unwell for many months - doctor's blood test came back 'normal.'

I am a big fan of the comprehensive nutrient tests. The one I did has been life-changing!
The professional I worked with recommended supplements and dosage, and I am feeling back to my previous self - full of energy and health.

Perhaps I'm in the majority, but I share my experience because I was eating well, taking the supps, doing all the things I thought was right, and yet I was in poor health.

The blood test saved me.

Ive never understood the false positive argument for not testing. If you are worried about false positives, you would just run the test multiple times on the positives to weed out the false ones?

I’m in Mexico, and you can get all those tests, except the first one, in one package deal, costing 65$ usd . The first test for about 50$ usd

Us pharmacist: That led to the conclusion that, among patients with early mild cognitive impairment and low-to-moderate serum cholesterol levels at baseline, patients prescribed lipophilic statins had more than twice the risk of developing dementia over 8 years of follow-up versus no statin use.

The test that you left out which everyone should get is the Omega-3:Omega-6 ratio test. These are not so expensive, you can get test kits for anywhere from $75-$125. I got mine from a company called Zinzino for around $50 with a subscription to their Omega-3 oil. Before I started with the oil (I had never taken an Omega-3 supplement before) my ration was 13:1, and after 5 months it was 1.2:1, almost perfect. That gives me a really good feeling.
As to vitamin D tests, they can be had for around $30.00 so I can't imagine why I wouldn't get one. I did one, and my levels are just at the bottom (50) of what is considered ideal, so that also gives me a lot of confidence, so it is $30.00 well spent.

Your logic about running every test is correct if you only run each test once, but if you re-run every test and notice any discrepancy, then you'd have useful information. So if money is no object, you want to run every test twice (from different labs) and then chase up any positives with more targeted tests. So testing more (and spending more $) is absolutely a good thing, if you do enough.

Get a FULL cholesterol panel that includes Lp(A), ApoB, sdLDL, etc. These are far more important than LDL (Dr. Attia & others speak often on these). Another crucial component to check that isn't mentioned is inflammation (e.g., hsCRP, Lp-PLA2, MPO). A CBC & CMP cover the last couple of items & are common with periodic labs.

Rosuvastatin can lower LDL cholesterol by up to 50%, but it also has some side effects such as muscle pain, liver damage, kidney failure, and increased blood sugar levels. Rosuvastatin should only be used when diet and exercise alone are not enough to control cholesterol levels, and the benefits outweigh the risks.

I’m glad you said at the end that it is still our decision whether we want extra tests. Some doctors REFUSE when we ask for things like ApoB or thyroid function tests. I order my own tests without a physician because I want to avoid the gatekeeper.

I’m glad you do these videos. However, I would challenge your logic on doing many tests for someone who can afford it because if a test shows a false positive and it’s simple matter of re-doing a test before the diagnosis is confirmed. This is far better than waiting until it’s too late before you diagnose someone. A good example is ultrasound examination of the abdomen and pancreas. Too many people die from pancreatic cancer, because ultrasound isn’t being routinely used.

I usually never comment. But I had the chance to help a lot of people with preventative care by blood testing and also found major risk factors by coincidence. Like a lot of people suffer from chronic inflammation without knowing and CRP, but also IL-6 and TNF-alpha can save lifes for sure. So I completely disagree having a whole different experience and prevention should be a lot more than 7 key biomarkers!

i've asked that same question. it's amazing how many physicians just don't want to go the extra mile. they do the basics. kinda scary. i think our insurance system has burned our physicians out. they've become slaves to insurance. they don't want to deal with requesting a certain bloodwork test. dealing with insurance companies is hell.

After this vid dropped went to the GP and was told i was young healthy and didn't need this test. I found a service where I could pay to have the tests done, and well... took the results back to my GP and now im on a statin and in a waiting line to see a cardiologist because im now in a high-risk category.
Thank you for the video. It definitely came at the right time, and hopefully, I can use this knowledge to make some strong preventative changes!

In India it is relatively cheap to do whole body bloodwork and urinalysis, you don’t have to be a millionaire. I get it done annually.

I actually shelled out $1k for tests and found out I have hemochromatosis from the ferritin and iron saturation numbers.
