how long do i need to hold down the home button after i let go of the sleep button?

@DiiTTEPiiR Not at all, you can just quit DFU mode by restarting it by pressing HOME + POWER for a little while again.

hi, when i do the 10 second process, i let go of the sleep button, and then i am not sure how much longer i am to hold the home button. also, after this, the phone just reboots and loads the apple symbol, then is back to normal. any idea?

@Joshster66 Disregard, the greenpois0n instructions included the extra 15 seconds i need. I have it DFU mode, I will use your tutorial to downgrade from 4.3 to 4.2.1, then I will use your videos to guide me. Thanks.

I did everything as showed here on my 1st-gen device, but when it enters DFU mode RedSn0w shows me a message that says: usb connection problem. Help! What should I do?
