I was modding in GTA V in SP and doing the whole stretch Peteys for a few years but wanted more and been watching ATS vids and decided to DL the demo last night and holy shit I can see why everyone plays this game. Its so relaxing and fun and I plan on getting the full copy today. Thanks for helping on the modding front.

Another great video bud. You should do a video on MOD LOAD ORDER. I get a lot of people confused on where the truck mods need to be in the list, trailer mods graphic mods, lights mod. There is a confusing on JBX and PNG if they need to be at the top or under the trucks. BTW LOL, This is Keystone...lol...didnt realize I was on my main video bud!

I know this is an old video, and I am not new to ATS, however this is the first time I've downloaded an external mod, normally I just get stuff from steam workshop. I had no idea how to do this stuff, and your video gave clear and simple instruction. I've now installed my first external mod in the game so thank you very much. Don't mind telling you though, I was shittin bricks incase I kakked something up in the game lol, but all is well.

Good solid info for beginners. What I miss a bit is info about how mods work in MP, either in-game MP, Dedicated servers, TruckersMP etc. Also something more on mod loading order importance, as with ProMods it is important part. Anyway, thanks for sharing info.

Mike is already liking that 379. And it isn't bad for a free truck.

Sorry about that long comment I've just been waiting to be able to play this game for a really long time like it's crazy and I have the g920 with the 6 speed shifter but I def want the actual truck shifter to swap out cause trying to drive an 18 speed I tried doing what this guy said in his video with the buttons on the steering wheel and for the second set of gears I can get to like 8th maybe but nothing past that so I'm still trying to figure stuff out

It's not the installation of mod's via steam or manually that's an issue. Regardless of how one istall's it, they all go into the same general section to choose from, a process referred to as activataion is the issue. I realize the mod's need to be in various categories, and in addition, in a particular order with in a group of a particular categories. And the categories them selves, must be in category referred to as top down, or bottom up. Which is the same as the mod's are referred to when activating them in a particual group. It's the assumption that everyone is using the same set of semantic's.

OK, there are mod's and there are group's of mod's. Starting at the bottom of the activation listing and going up, which group is to be at the very bottom and which group on top etc. And how exactly does one determine in which group a particual mod goes. There are a number of group's, and sometime's varios mod's have more than one purpose.

I only ever drive but one truck. The W900, I've got every mod available via steam in regard's to the W900. In addition to map's, graphic that change such as light's that go on and off auto matically, and graphic's which are static; Meaning they never change. Then there the varioius "TUNING'S" aka bling bling, the various motor's, transmission's, and sound's like jake brake's, retarder's, straight pipe's.

I've found using only the coast to coast mod, goes on the absolute bottom, and my various UI's go on the absolut top, but then there's the sound's, active graphic's, static graphic's,

It would be nice if the modder were to advise exactly what group a particual mod should go in and not just say the top or higher. But they don't, they generally only state if they do at all, and they all seem to state the same thing, on top or higher. But never the actual group.

Sorry to rant as I have, but after investing well over a thousand hour's of playing, in which I've spent at least half to seemingly no avile, though the variuos mod's I have should make my truck sound cool, I just can't seem to find the correct placeement of the mod in the correct group and or the group in the correct top down or bottom up activation process.
