How to Add Mods into Stardew Valley in 2022!

Stardew Valley has one of the most extensive modding scenes out there, so to prepare for some mod showcases, here's a tutorial on how to mod Stardew Valley to get you started!

If when trying to launch the game, you get an error along the lines of "Windows couldn't find the file c:\program", then you likely forgot to surround the launch options with quotation marks.

Smapi doesn't do this for you automatically, and this video tutorial doesn't show quotes either. It may be common sense, but as someone who never mods, it gave me a 20 minute headache, so I wanted to leave a comment in case I wasn't the only one who ran into this issue.

Two things of note if I may. Firstly, the SMAPI program also writes things in purple if a mod is updateable. Updates are not required to my knowledge, but the SMAPI program will continue to notify you until it is updated. Another is if you are on the Windows 11 OS, Win-rar is not required to extract folders.

I really have got to give you props. I am the opposite of tech savvy and you broke down the steps easy enough for me that I could actually download SVE !!! I tried to follow a tutorial back in December of last year and couldn’t get it to work so I gave up, thought I’d give it another try to see if I could figure it out and your video did the trick!! As a helpful tip that I use, if you plan on adding a lot of mods to your stardew game or any other game, you can pin the mods folder to quick access, so when you download a zip file you can open and move the contents right to the quick access shortcut.

I play Stardew Valley for two years on PlayStation and one year on Nintendo Switch. I always wanted to use mods and finally i was able to download it on my laptop. i was so confused and helpless with all the mods and SMAPI but your video helped me sososo much. it's perfectly explained in such a short time!
