I’ve only made melt and pour soaps because I was intimidated by the lye. You’ve done a great job explaining and showing the process I may give the hot process soap a try. Thank you.

I can tell you are more of a cold process soaper!! You know you don't need to cool the lye solution with hot process soap? you only do that with cold process. I just dissolve lye and chuck it in the melted oils, absolutely not necessary. You also don't need to go in at an angle with the stick blender as you are cooking soap that is another CP tip, but not for HP as you are stirring it whilst it cooks a few times. You also don't need to cool it down before adding yoghurt and EO that is a bit of a myth in the HP soapmaking world. Great video btw and the soap looks fab! (it also 'should' be cured the same length of time you would CP soap which is 4-6 weeks and of course it will improve with age) I did CP for about 2 years but much prefer HP and have been doing that for about 5 years, so much easier and I you don't have to worry about soda ash or soap batter seizing etc.

Hi. I just tried doing this today, however when I tested the pH level, it is in between 12 and 14, do you know the ways on how to neutralize it ? If that is the term. It is also itchy if it touches my skin. Can you help me?

So is it the same as cold process only quicker right? Do you still have to wait 24 hrs before taking it out of the mold? Thank you for sharing!

Would you keep the slow cooker JUST for making soap? Or would you be able to wash it out and use for food later? Is a RICE COOKER the same as a slow cooker? How would you wash the utensils after making this soap (I'm concerned about the lye). Thank you

Thank you so much, I loved your video on hot process method; I've been learning cold process method, and i have had some great success, as well as a few failures that were able to be saved. But I wanted to learn hot process so that I can have more soaps ready for the holidays.
I have two daughters who are into gardening so I bought two of your gardening books, and really looking forward to receiving them, looks like a beautiful book.

Which of these two soaps: HOT or COLD, does the customer like more? Who has the greater advantage? Which of the two gives us more value for the final product?

Brilliant results! My second batch I am subsisting with peppermint oil and reducing the essential oil by a third in line with your website guidance. Thank you!

Great explanation ! I have a few questions 1) Is there any difference in quality of HP Soap and CP soap ? (As HP soap is forced for a quicker saponification where CP soap takes it longer ) Do they give equal benefits for our skin ?
2) Can we make 100% olive oil HP soap? Will it be hard to use after 2 to 3 weeks ?
3) Can I use Shea butter instead of mango butter?
