How to Make Hot Process Soap w/ Recipe

Let’s make hot process soap!!!

Recipe
-24 ounces coconut oil
-12 ounces olive oil
-5.7 ounces sodium hydroxide
-10.8 ounces filtered/distilled water

BE CAUTIOUS WHILE WORKING WITH LYE. Do your research on safely working with lye before beginning soapmaking.

Hi, thanks for your video, this process looks super easy and fun. I’ve only made CP so far. Just a question about the lye, do you have to wait until it’s cooled to add to the oils, then it’s heated in crockpot or can you mix it when hot? Thanks xx

Thank you! I love short videos and you added all of the information that I was looking for. Nobody else says anything about the temps of the oils or the lye! I have made cold process soap but now have an order for soap that is needed in a month, so cold process wasn't an option...and I didn't want to use melt and pour due to packaging.

Hello. I am having real trouble with my hot process. I am not sure if I let it overheat or using wrong pot but I seem to get the same result every time I try. Basically I mix it to trace then start heating to about 95 degrees C. It goes well to a certain point but then it turns into grainy substance and liquid - Soap separates. No further cooking rectify the situation. I ruined 3 big batches, changed recipes but nothing seem to help. I have 2 questions - How to fix it and is there anything that can be done with ruined batch. Shame to waste …
