Every day, He grows closer to hosting his own death game. This is just the studying phase to create the perfect one

Imagine playing a friendly game of Uno and then you here an ominous voice say "But that was his biggest mistake".

I find it a little dumb how the organizers' goal was supposed to be finding the most competent people but they still decided to send arguably the smartest person among the students to the rehabilitation facility just because she lost the game even though tens of people got out just through sheer luck and by relying on the smarter students

"What are you in for?"
"Triple Theft-Homicide, the usual. You?"
"I lost in Old Maid."
*gasp* "You monster!"

From a logistical standpoint:

1. Japan can’t afford to ‘weed out useless people’ because their young population is already quite low. To the point of it being one of the nation’s existential problems.

2. The trauma induced by this process would cause some of the students to become mentally scarred and ‘useless’ later if not soon in life.

This alone makes this fictional version of the Japanese government all the more terrifying, as it means they truly don't care about these major concerns and only want the most *hardened, * steely individuals in its society... even if the population is so low to begin with.

I've actually played this game before, it was tense. But instead of the loser getting brutally killed, the loser gets forced to do a dare decided by the winner of the game (the first one to get rid of all their cards). If you have a deck of cards, I highly recommend you guys to play it. Enjoy

I wish I could see one of these death games where the teacher is going "So here the rules of how to play and we're going to kill you if you don't." And the response is to beat him to death with a chair.

If the people in charge are not in the same room, it makes sense, but when they're just standing there in front of an entire room full of people, they're asking for someone to attack them. And they're Far outnumbered.

Then the rest of the movie is about these teens defending themselves from this bunch of murderous lunatics.

I love how these Japanese horror movies portray debt and prison as a worse fate than death

Weird ending but I like it. It's pretty realistic given the ridiculous scenario. Friends betraying one another and feeling horrible about it, but in the end they have each other's back. That's probably what would happen in real life. Survival instinct would drive you to save yourself, but the second you found a way to save your friend you were forced to screw over you'd leap to their defense.

Wait, you get sent to PRISON for losing? that's like, WAY better than most losses in movies/shows like these tbh.

As someone that has been playing old maid with my grandparents I can assure you that this is not normal for someone to bust the achool's door and inject the loser with something.

Ironically, 4 people stepping up to 'take the loss' would have actually been the best bet. Yes those 4 people lose, but they also firmly show off leadership qualities that might help and keep losses down to a minimum.

I have one question: WTF is up in Japan for them to keep inventing stories where a psychotic government treats teenagers like cannon fodder? Battle Royale is over 20 years old and japanese artists are STILL releasing variations of the concept.

"Give up. Your team is smaller so less people would be punished"
"You’re right. Teacher, can I give up?"
I’d be pretty pissed if I was on her team!

It all takes one bad day for the students to handle. They could've easily survived the "Joker Game" early on if they have Batman in their side.
