I really liked a theory that Springtrap replacing Oswald's father is meant to emulate the feeling of Afton's actual kids coming to the realisation that their own father was a murderer - doing father-like things, but terrifying at the same time. 'Is this my Dad? Or are they a killer?' For a kid, I bet it would be easier to wonder if their parent had been replaced by someone else than understanding their parents can do terrible things and still be their parent.

This game is kinda legit terrifying, that kid stuck in the endoskeleton even with the sprite graphics is so upsetting especially with the sobbing, they did a great job on this one for sure

I think the idea of Pittrap becoming our dad is that it's another aspect of William.

Pittrap is not Afton, like everything in the Pit, it's just the memory of him. He's remembered as the monster in a rabbit suit who took at least 6 kids, so that's what was formed. A literal monster.

When he pretends to be Oswalds dad, that's another way he is remembered. That's how Afton's own kids remember him. An overbearing force in their own house. An abuser, but also their father.

I think its reasonable for a kid in a small town to realise that the town is dying when everything is closing down, everyone's moving away, and no one's even bothering to clean up anything, including roadkill.

It's very clear that MatPat is a city boy.
1. Nobody takes care of the opossum. It will take care of itself eventually.
2. The person that puts up a flyer NEVER takes them down. Whoever owns the ad board either takes them down as they become irrelevant, or leaves it in a sorry state in perpetuity.

Tbh you'd be surprised how often dead animals are just left around in cities and stuff. When I was in highschool there was a dead kitten that was just left on the corner across from the school for like at least a week, and that was in a residential area where kids would walk by.
