So lorewise, the basics of the story is that you aren't actually time-traveling. You are living through the memories of the Missing Kids, which is why everything seems heightened. Obviously, the real Afton wasn't some growling monster like SpringBonnie is in this game, but that is how the Missing Kids saw Afton because to them, he was a monster. And obviously, since the Kids just disappeared, there wasn't a massive scene of parents running like there was in this, but that is the Kids remembering things wrong.

Random fun fact! At 6:28 when he says "here’s hoping I don’t get pink eye" Is, of course, a reference to the book. In which his mother is a doctor/nurse (i don’t remember which) and always told him he would get pink eye in those types of things so he’d stay out of them :)

This is actually based on a FNaF Fazbear Frights Book named after this game (Fazbear Frights: "Into The Pit") which is actually an interesting read.
I'd recommend that you read it, Think. It's very interesting, and it explains more about this game, and Oswald's past and what he's been going through! :)
