The Snow Queen was never evil. She is just the winter snow. She kills people by freezing them to death, but thta is because she is a natural force. She is no more evil then a tree or a cliff. The trolls were evil in the original story.

10:10 OMG I was actually thinking about Edmund and the white witch while he was describing it.

When you were talking about the witch brushing Gerta's hair, that kind of reminded me of "Tangled" because of Mother Gothel brushing Rapunzel's hair. Granted, it's not a very big connection, but I did notice it.

No matter how messed up the origin is...
Nothing is worse than those people who always sing "Let it Go" without stopping

the original is a powerful story. It's interesting in that it's a reverse damsel in distress. Instead of the guy saving the girl, the girl saves the guy. Now pay attention too to the symbolism. Something happens to corrupt the boy and turn him hostile. He ends up alone.. in an icy prison lost in the pursuit of reason and logic.. no connection. to anyone really. However though the girl's efforts she is able to pull him back.. this time instead of childhood friends.. lovers as the formation of the pair bond breaks the spell. Now examine the world around you and see how this sort of thing plays out.

That story is so sweet. It’s the opposite of the normal fairy tale. The girl risked her life to save her friend. I really wished Disney would have adapted that story.

There was actually a faithful movie to this story called “The Snow Queen”.

Most progressive? Bruh how many times are ppl gonna say this is the first story about sisterly love etc etc? Are we just gonna forget Nani and Lilo? Ok so Nani didn’t rescue Lilo from the spaceship but she clearly raised a whole little girl by herself and taught both Lilo and Stitch that family and love is what you make of it

As a child, someone gave me a truly, gorgeously illustrated book about the snow queen. And it is the exact telling that you have given here. The pictures were so rich and detailed. I felt as if I were on the journey with both Gerda and Kai. I would stare at the pictures for hours on end. Really caused me to love the story. I am very fortunate to still have the book as well as the memories. Thanks for the reminder. ❤

I actually kinda wish that Disney did the original version. I really liked this story!

I have never read "The Snow Queen, " but now I have to. For some reason, I found it incredibly moving even when told second-hand.

I've heard a story where instead of Elsa and Ana being sisters, they weren't related at all. Ana was so broken hearted from being dumped by a man she loved, that she asked the Ice Queen to freeze her broken heart so she would never feel that pain again.

There's also a movie called "The Snow Queen" that was released in 2005! It basically tells the tale exactly how you did! I watched it as a little kid, but I never realized how true it was to the original (or that there even was an original haha). I love your videos! Keep doing a great job :D

I love how you just said, Anna punches him in the face, then summer returns, with a straight face! 😂😂
