About OFF GRID with DOUG and STACY:
We moved to our 11 acres in 2011 from a large city in the Midwest with zero carpentry and farming skills. We live with no solar / wind power / public water or well. We share our adventure to a sustainable life, growing our own food from vegetables to meat. We post videos DAILY and they range from HOW TO to EVERYDAY LIFE and NUTRITION on the off grid homestead. We were city folks just like you probably and wanted to enjoy life and have more control over our food. We share food recipes as well as natural remedies.

Hey Stacy- did you know that Horseradish is a companion to potatoes? Put it on the corners of your raised beds. You really only need a couple of roots to start, it multiplies very well!

I know this is an older video but love the shot of the homestead! Looks beautiful! Came here searching onions. Gotta find out how Doug and Stacy do it. Determined this year to be the year I am successful at growing onions. Thank you for the video and sharing your knowledge with us! We appreciate you both! And so cool looking at now, not just 1M students but 1.1M students. Y'all are blessing many people!

I just want to say that out of all the gardening shows I watch here on YouTube I really appreciate the two of you the most. Your explanations of how things work and why you plant the variety you plant and even your explanation of the proper way to plant is just so pure and clear and so easy to understand. I am moving from North-Central Colorado to Central Ohio in just a few weeks (My husband moved at the beginning of February) and I am really excited to get my large garden going. My wonderful husband planted our starts in the basement of our 100-year-old home a couple of weeks ago and our landlord has agreed to allow us any size garden on the 1.75-acre property. So excited and want to thank the two of you so much for all I have learned from you in the past year. Blessing to you both.

My onions are getting fat all ready! Green onions/ chives are my favorite! My 21 year old son plants with me. He did all the onions three weeks ago...he's such a help and I'm sharing all my gardening knowledge with him. Gotta pass it down.

Big fan of all things onion, however lately I have been enjoying shallots. Always enjoy the videos, wish they were longer, but it does keep me coming back for more. Thanks for enabling my "Off Grid" addiction. Thanking Yah in advance for your bountiful harvest.

Americans have the biggest onions compared to Australian onions. When we were over there a couple of years ago I couldn't believe the size difference...amazing! This is great info on the planting in the evening...have been researching the moon phase gardening as well...thank you

I love your tips and tricks, especially the things you've learned from the Amish community. They've been doing things the same way for so long, you can be sure their methods are "tried and true".
