We are doing pretty good so far! My husband is deployed and so I am handling all the money but we still talk about it over the phone. I have been consistently doing a budget for about six months now and it has made a huge difference! We have already paid off two debts.

I'm at baby step 6 at age 56. I started all of this late and will probably never be a millionaire but I'm oh so much safer going into retirement. I'm paying off my house gazelle intensely. I plan to have it done in ten years. My three side hustles are all really fun things I'd do even if they didn't make me money so they feel effortless. You are so fun!

i feel like i’m super weird for watching so many videos about getting out of debt when i don’t actually have debt. but i’m like super afraid of it so i like watching people’s debt free journeys because it inspires me to stay out of debt to see people work so hard to pay off their debt

Overspending on groceries!!! I now ‘hired’ my husband to do the grocery shopping. For him, it’s black and white—-it has to be on the list to be purchased. I seem to lack that gene and overspent at the grocery store every single time by big margins.

Great video! I laughed at "you may not think you have a lifestyle...." :)

Ironically I really enjoyed this pep talk. I have been trying to start a budget and get my financial life in order, but keep failing miserably. You are such an inspiration, thanks girl!

We have a family of 6 with about a $40, 000 yearly income. My husband and I have started paying down $82, 000 in debt.

Can you do a video on the waisting money category? Or things that its a waste of money. Like maybe things that may be or not be obvious. A longer video would be great.

Thank you so much for putting out content for being in BS2 even though your debt free. I feel like some creators kind of move on and target their content more for investing and retirement and not on the struggle of digging out of debt! I just moved into BS3 and I was so thankful for these BS2 videos you do and continue to love your perspective and advice!

Lydia great video. We are debt free (except for the house)!! Now we’re starting to build up our emergency fund. My husband is in IT and it takes about 8 months to find a new job so it’s going to take us awhile to build up an 8 month emergency fund. Ugh lol

I love that your older videos are still available. There are days when I need to focus on keeping myself in check, so rather than browsing on Amazon online I listen to an older pist and it helps to kerp me from spending thoughtlessly or needlessly.

Doing ok over here. My husband and I had started the steps a while back and we are now getting divorced. Not ideal, but I couldn’t be happier that we not only have money in savings to split to start our lives individually, but that 90% of our debt is gone. Will it take a little longer by myself? Absolutely, but I know I can do it. Your pep talks on a Monday morning are wonderful ❤️

Thank you for the small steps. I am going to write down all my debt and print out 3 months of bank statements today. 🙌🏻 Thank you so much

Your ability to get out of debt, while starting a family, on one income is so much more realistic and inspiring. Definitely, if you can be debt free in 2 years, there is no reason I can’t do it myself.

Almost finished baby step 3. Doing a low spend to finish it this month. One thing when setting up my months budget I look at the past years budget. I sometimes am reminded of things I pay quarterly, semi yearly or once a year.

Oh my gosh just thinking of the highlights I already know the second one would be ridiculous 😱😳😝 but $27.50 a day huh... I just flipped that and wrote a plan to use it to SAVE in the bank $10k a yr with that!! Love it!!

Just starting to budget this month and I feel so overwhelmed. We just paid things as we had money and put out the fires as we could before. By the time we get our modest amount of debt paid it will be 2 years or so and all the numbers say that we will then be 2 years late to be able to live of a ROTH IRA if we max it out. One income and it just won't stretch. We were already doing a lot to make our cost of living lower (cloth diapers, doing things ourselves, cooking from scratch). We haven't completed our first real month on a budget yet and I'm ready to give up sometimes. My hubby thinks I'm silly to keep rerunning the numbers over and over. Trying to figure out how to do it better. we only have 230 dollars in our emergency savings and with taxes coming up and several other once a year things right now I feel like we are against a wall right now to get anywhere with the baby steps.
