As someone who literally started riding yesterday, from my perspective, you just need wellie boots, maybe gloves if it’s cold, leggings (jeans are uncomfortable) and if you want, a coat/ hoodie

I have my first lesson on the 19th of January (2024, for future folks 😊), and i have jeans, cowboy boots, and a flannel. The place I am going provides helmets. Can't wait!

My instructor always says safety seventh, so if u forget my helmet she sometimes doesn’t care lol

I ride horses and have been for 4 years and I ride western but started riding in tights and now all the time I ride jeans :)!

I started riding at 4 and my first lesson I worn my little light up sketchers shoes, leggings, and obviously they gave me a helmet. 😂 Still love to wear leggings while riding western sometimes cause now I ride both western and english.

When I go to my western riding lesson I have been riding about a year now and it is today and I got my helmet from troxel

I ride English, and it was the same thing for me EXCEPT the jeans. In English, we wear breeches.
