0:00 Intro
0:30 LDL does not correlate with the degree of coronary artery plaque.
1:02 HDL is protective against coronary artery disease and plaquing.
2:10 Triglycerides correlate with diabetes, coronary artery disease and plaquing.
3:45 HDL size is highly predictive.
5:15 LDL, vLDL, and IDL had no strong association.
8:00 LDL may be lower with prediabetes and diabetes, reflecting imbalance.
12:10 HDL is increased by lifestyle.
13:00 Plaquing is more common in diabetics.
15:47 High triglycerides increase odds of metabolic disease by 100%.
18:00 The smaller HDL particles become, the less protective they are.
19:13 Coronary artery calcium is associated with HDL size, concentration and composition.
21:20 High HDL with low triglycerides is linked with better metabolic health.
23:10 Exercise increases the size and number of your protective HDL.

Yes. I am an internist and my ldl has been high ( over 200 ) over the last 30 years. And I never took any statins and I am still alive.

We have been handing out statins like Candies for 40 years and yet heart disease remains the number one killer. At what point does the medical community wake up and ask a new question?

Last year after my physical + bloodwork my doctor called up + said she wanted to talk about the cholesterol... She was complaining about the high LDL. I asked her about the trigs. She said my trigs were fine (35). I told her I was a LMHR. Of course she never heard of that! I am living on grass fed meat! Of course my LDL is going to be high! But I feel great! 😊 how many 52 year olds do you know that can walk 14 miles? My waist is 24 inches, my legs are all muscle and my blood pressure was 100/60. Do intermittant fasting too.

I am going to the Dr on Tuesday so we will see what she will say this year.

My not the sharpest tool in the toolbox brother in law took statins for 20 years and then got a by-pass that was 95% blocked. The doctors said he was lucky he was on statins otherwise it would have been 100% blockage, unreal.

This is incredible. It's the opposite of what we've been told for decades.

Started cutting back on sugar and carbs in April. My knees were hurting.
I started losing weight pretty fast. And now I walk a lot outside.

I started questioning everything, especially advice from government health organizations after reading 'Health and Beauty Mastery' by Julian Bannett, this book exposes so many shocking truths about the health industry.

Just read three books. The Great Cholesterol Con, The Clot Thickens and The Grain Brain. I did. I changed my blood tests to C-RP when I had a 46.3% of a heart attack. My C-RP was 3 (practically no whole body inflammation). Was pressured to use statins, told my GP where he could put them.

This is probably why that statins contributes to diabetes by lowering cholesterol

Always appreciate the release of new studies that disprove what we are usually told by most doctors.
My dad is always told his ldl is the only concern, yet being a diagnostic mechanic his whole life, he always suspects there are more particles involved in cardiovascular health.
By the way, the doctors hate his questions about the information I give him from your videos.
Very helpful for health.

My CAC at my age was 7, I’m 57 years young and a former smoker who was also around secondhand smoke as well my whole life. Also had a carotid artery scan which showed no blockages 🙏🏼. One year come December I’ve stopped carbs n sugar 🙌🏼. I feel amazing!! 💪🏼

I luckily came across your videos a few months back when I refused to go on statins, which my doctor was not thrilled about. I began taking a daily berberine and an aged garlic supplement instead and in 3 months I brought my triglyceride/HDL ratio down from 5.15 to 3.08! I still need to lower my saturated fat intake some more and get a bit more active but to move the needle 2 whole points in only 3 months really makes me glad that I'm advocating for my own health instead of just listening to my doctor's advice. Thank you so much for the knowledge!

Oh boy, just eliminate all processed food and sugary food and drink, exercise daily (HIIT if able) and move on. It's not rocket science.

Mike,
Dr. Stephen Sinatra write a book called the Great Cholesterol Myth. He says in the book that the triglyceride HDL ratio is a better indicator of heart attack risk than the cholesterol numbers that the majority of doctors mistakenly use.

23:11 "Exercise increases the size and number of your protective HDL and increases the total number of HDL particles that you have and it can lower your blood triglycerides."
23:28 "... reduce the odds that you will develop calcified arteries and increase the presence of atherosclerosis."

My buddy is 70 and he’s had a heart attack and is on statins. He has neuropathy. I told him how I advise my 83 year old mom to eat meat and veg (dark). Three years later, her neuropathy was gone. He said, I can’t eat meat because of my cholesterol. And then complained about his sore legs. I told him his COQ10 is low. He said, “Yeah, he put me on those too”. I wanted to scream.

You don't need berberine to help stop food cravings. If you do high fat, very low carb long-term, after a couple weeks for most people food cravings disappear permanently, as long as you stay away from eating any significant amount of carbs.

Cholesterol is still demonised in the media. Studies like this hopefully will start to normalise the understanding of the role of cholesterol in our bodies. Thx Mike. Love that you break down these studies for us.
