This is a very helpful video, but the background music is distracting, and frankly annoying. Leave that out next time, please.

I met a highly paid cardiologist surgeon in Cabo San Lucas, and I asked him if high cholesterol can cause a heart attack and he said to me that if high cholesterol caused heart attacks then he would have had one years ago since, as he said, his has been hovering around 300 for years and that statins haven’t moved the market on the rate of heart attacks since their inception.

Got bloods done recently - High LDL, High HDL - everything else was perfect. Doctor said if it doesn't come down I'm going on statins for the rest of my life. I'm 43. No discussion about diet or lifestyle.

I have high LDL but low triglycerides. I exercise every day and avoid sugar and ultra processed foods

Love your thoughts! I found eating less sugar and carbs healed my over all Bloodwork by a significant margin. Then I had surgery and stopped exercising which elevated my LDL’s again. Rather than Statins, I chose to get exercising again and again returned my LDL’s to great levels. I was amazed at how big of an impact just exercising 25 min. 3 times a week had.

Cholesterol is an extremely important molecule for good health. It's necessary for bile acids, hormone production, immune system optimization, and cell membrane construction. Also, the myelin sheaths that cover axons in neurons are 25% cholesterol The idea that you can strip away cholesterol in the body and not suffer serious health complications is ridiculous. I would never take a statin.

Thank you for this wonderful interview. I was also delighted to find out that your show is available as a podcast vs video, so I could listen to it on my walk. (Not sure why it didn’t occur to me to look for it before now.) Wonderful information as I prepare for an annual checkup in April. Being low carb I am expecting a high LDL - hopefully if all other markers are good it won’t get my Dr going.

My ldl was 121, hdl 65, triglycerides 77, non hdl 138, total cholesterol 203. According to my mobile app I’m out of range with high cholesterol but I have a follow up appointment with my doctor next week and see what the doctor says.

When it comes to a Coronary Artery Calcium (CAC) Test, anything greater then zero is undesirable. It is a good test, but most people would also recommend a Carotid Intima-Media Thickness Test (CIMT), since it appears to be the gold standard when testing for soft plaque. Also, keep an eye on your A1C & triglycerides. As you may know, prolonged high blood glucose & pressure can lead to Endothelial Dysfunction.

Check out Linus Pauling and his vitamin c therapy, it is pretty interesting.

Wow I just found this video and it’s exactly what I was struggling with my doctor yesterday!! My LDL went up 39 pts but everything else was normal… as usual he wants statins and I refused! My BP as usual went up because they take it 2 seconds after walking in the office. We had a serious talk about how he was an echo test and need for meds but I’m not buying it because I know how I eat … intermittent fasting 2-3 days a week and carb intake between 75-100 . How can I make my doctor see this is of no use and I am fine and feel great? I have your book “ Stay off my operating table “ and follow it .

Is the NMR test still a good particle test? For LDL?
