Parents charged with starving 10-year-old son to point he weighed 36 pounds appear in court

Tyler and Krista Schindley briefly appeared in a Spalding County court on Tuesday.

They were due for a bond hearing, but have not yet arranged legal representation for their defense. A judge set a date of June 12 at 9 a.m. for the case to come back before the court.

I pray this child can recover physically and will get intense mental health care to give him a chance at a decent life. He needs tons of love but can he trust anyone again? Bless him.

This is so sick. My TWO-year old weighs 36lbs, my THREE-year old weighs 40lbs. Neither are overweight. I can’t imagine how emaciated that poor baby is. I pray he and his siblings will be well cared for a kept together. These ‘parents’ are so sick and evil. I hope they’re tortured in prison!

I attended school with the woman since 1st grade. Our families all knew each other etc. She was str8 laced, str8 A student etc. Unbelievable what she did. The Devil runs wild in people and we dont realize it.

How does this go on for 10 years? No family, no friends, no neighbors, no school officials saw the abhorrent condition this child was in? Unbelievable, I hope he's in good hands.

I don’t know how anyone could treat a child the way these two idiots have allegedly treated their son!! Throw them under the jail and forget where you put them!

I hope these psychos do try to represent themselves, and promptly get sentenced to death. They nearly killed that child, and apparently another one that’s gone ‘missing’ months before. Who knows how many years of torture those poor kids had to endure from them.

I hope they get an appropriate sentence; but what I really hope is that these two get needed punishment in prison, by the other inmates! The sad thing is that this poor child will carry these horrible memories forever with him.
