Solve an equation for x by clearing fractions with multiple steps

👉 Learn how to solve multi-step equations with variable on both sides of the equation. An equation is a statement stating that two values are equal. A multi-step equation is an equation which can be solved by applying multiple steps of operations to get to the solution.

To solve a multi-step equation, we first combine like terms by taking the variable terms to one side of the equality sign and the constant terms to the other side of the equation and evaluate them, then we can isolate the variable by multiplying both sides by the reciprocal of the coefficient of the variable.

Wish you were my teacher. I’m in algebra 1 as an 8th grader, and this is a review unit, but my teacher last year taught us nothing without caluclators, and taught us to just turn fractions into decimals and call it a day.. well this year my algebra teacher (known in the school as a teacher that doesn’t teach at all) and now I’m struggling trying to study the day before a test trying to teach myself

First get rid of-2 by adding both sides +2 then to get CF for denominator which is 12 multiply 12 both sides etc
