This was another one of my favourite cutscenes from the Halo Infinte Campaign. The Weapon and Master Chief meet for the first time!

Can we discuss how meaningful it is to have the player do the simple action of "press X" to the chip? right in the feels.

I get the feeling that the weapon is all that's left of Cortana after she deleted herself. Left the only piece of her behind that she could to help Chief- the function she used *in order* to delete herself. The only good left in her.

I guess from what I've seen, while Cortana is truly dead SHE stopped the Weapon's deletion. Cortana is also the one who destroyed the Ring and she might've been the one to take out Atriox in the end.

John sounds really depressed and it makes me sad I love master chef he's awesome

I literally gasped when you were prompted to insert the chip. It acknowledges our connection to Cortana as fans and gives us a moment to accept a new person into that space. As it was painful for Chief to lose her, he has had some time process her loss. Now, he was ready for someone else to step into that void.

It's like losing a loved one, years spent healing from that loss, and then finally being ready to accept another into that empty void in your heart. You don't forget the loved one or stop missing them, but Life must go on.

The emotional feels in this scene struck home so much 🥰. Love this new Cortana.
“The mission has changed they always do.”
Wish she said “are you sure, don’t make a girl a promise if you know you can’t keep it.”

The music at the end when he extends the chip to her got me tearful. Symbolism to say, “we are back”

I mean I love halo but chief saying no to deleting her was kinda reckless, the last Cortana nearly destroyed everything.
But again it’s halo and I love halo so it makes sense
