Discovering some very high voltages on the Ryzen 5 3600X I installed in my nephew's PC led me to trying the ClockTuner for Ryzen utility in order to try and reduce the voltage. Spoiler alert: It works very well!

You do need a Ryzen 3000-series CPU in order to make use of this though (5000-series support coming in the future). If you plan on using CTR, make sure you read through this article from Guru3D for detailed information about how it works and a step-by-step guide on how to set everything up:

Lower voltages if you choose to under-volt and don’t mind a lower frequency also. Depending on your chip’s rating, performance gains can be quite large if you use the software correctly. It has a steep learning curve and will take some time to complete on higher rated (gold, platinum) CPU’s. I reduced my highest clocked profile by 50 Mhz for added stability and changed the others to reflect the same settings and then enabled them all. I was able to achieve a 700 Mhz overclock on my gold rated 3700x and 400 Mhz on my 3600. In my experience, the “X” chips will clock higher and is probably AMD’s unofficial way to bin their chips……………at least this is what I surmise in my experience with Ryzen………both with this tool and manual overclocking.

I dont think those results are real, you should first read the CTR guide and adjust the LLC (load line calibration) on your bios, depending of the brand of your board. This is very important. Cooler is not that important as the program itself has an 85º limit, so, you need to configure the LLC, just follow the CTR guide.

The Bronze sample means the quality of the tested CPU.
If I’m not wrong, there are 4 types of samples : Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum.
Platinum is the highest quality that a CPU can get and bronze is the lowest.

In your case, you got a bronze sample. To improve this result, you need to get a better cooler for your CPU.

My 3600X is cooled with a liquid AIO cooler. It’s not a great one but it does the job. With it I got a silver sample. Obviously CTR recommended higher clocks.

So the better the cooling is, the better result you’ll get.
