5 Things That Stop You to Make Your Own Adventures

Life is too short enjoy it until you can!
in this video, I am going to tell you about the 5 things that keep you at home and of course a few tips on how to deal with them.
What are the top five things that stop you to make your own adventures? Now you will start with the most obvious - I don't have enough money, the time is a problem, I have kids, it is difficult from my country and many similar. The five things that I have promised are completely different.
Number one thing that keeps you at home is the fear of the unknown
We all love our safe little world and it is very difficult to step out and jump into the unknown adventure. For some, it might take many years and some will never do it. I perfectly understand that, but the time is ticking and you will never have the chance again! You have one life and I highly encourage you finally to do something for yourself. Once you cross this border you wondering why it took you so long to do it.
Number two is uncertainty
I don't have the skills, I am not ready, I cannot this I cannot that - Stop it! WE all have been in this situation and guess what, we had exactly the same feelings. It is absolutely normal and you cannot overcome it unless you finally start your first trip. I promise that when the day comes and you finally start the engine all of these will disappear and the fun will start. It is that simple!
Number three - I don't have …
I don't have the right bike, my riding gear is not good enough and many similar doubts. I guess that this is the biggest problem for you, isn't it? I will tell you something that I am 100% sure that you never even considered. How you will know what is the right bike or gear for you if you never been on a trip, or never tried different models? Maybe you will watch someone like me to tell you? Fair enough but what works for me might not be that good for you. We all have different preferences and the only way to find out what yours are is to travel, end of the story!
Number four is your ego
Yes, you have heard me right, it is your ego! Older you are worse it will be. During the years you have developed some kind of opinion about yourself and now when you need to jump into the unknown territory, you think that everyone will laugh on you! This is absolutely not true. The motorcycle community is very strong and we always support each other, no matter how old are you or where you come from. Don't let your ego take control of your life!
Number five is your wife
I should have started with this because it is the most important. With this, I don't want to say anything bad about your half, no it is exactly the opposite. You are the person who needs to convince her that it is something very important for you. Don't expect her to get it for just a day or two. It will take time. Make it slowly, step by step, no rush no pressure. Give her everything she needs and expect the same in return. I have one video on this topic, it is very old, the audio and video quality are terrible, but the information is priceless. You can watch it here. You can always thanks me later.

I've decided that I will ask your wife for permission to go Pavlin. It holds much less fear than asking my own wife!

Your wife! Hahaha... Always honest man!
I'm 52 and taking my girlfriend from Barcelona to Marroco for 2 weeks. I convinced her with one promise, no more than 4 hrs a day on the bike.
She's already loving then planning and everything and it's bringing us even closer together.
Thanks Pavlin!

Hey Pav, thanks for that talk. I'm 60 and in great shape, but the first three points apply to Me! I'm taking my old sportster on a three day ride this week. Keep posting and keep the shiny side up : )

My bike is 27 I'm 56 but I'll be traveling the wild Atlantic way in April 🤪 I live in Ireland so no problems if you are reasonably fit and the bike is reliable and well maintained "Go For It"

That was a nice video, I will listen to your 3rd tipp and not listen to you, so I'm stuck at home forever :D just kidding.
Actually I still have my first big trip in front of me and my bike is really only good for a 1 day trip because after that everything hurts (suspension, seating position, ..) its not really a travel bike.
I plan to replace it with a Tenere700, then I have zero excuses :-)

Nice one Pavlin. At 57 I start my adventure motorcycling trips this year. Exploring my home - Scotland now, building saddle time before 3-4 weeks in Europe in June! Thanks for all the advice.

Great words of wisdom. We make invalid excuses until we are physically unable to do the things our hearts yearn for and then have to live with regret. Your inspiration has directly helped my life. We all worked so hard to get homes and now most people I know are imprisoned in them. Execution of our dreams became secondary to safety thus we plan but procrastinate. Thanks for the push I needed. Cheers and love from 🇨🇦

Well, i have to say.... if you need to ask you wife for permission, you have bigger problems than going on adventures :-p Include her in the planing, show here what and where. I'm stunned to see how many people who prefer to live inside their comfortzone complaining instead of doing something about it and try a little of the unknown :-)
I think there is one more option that are right on this list Pavlin... Not enjoying riding alone. To many people need someone to share their adventure with, ride with etc. When i learned how to enjoy my own company and enjoy life alone with my own dreams... a whole new world opened up :-)
