I work in the mental health & addictions field and i am shocked at number of Therapists/Psychiatrists/LCSW etc who are Narcissists, psychopathic, antisocial, sociopathic etc. It's alarming that these people have access to the most vulnerable population disguised as clinicians!

Psychopaths from poor familys end up in prison and psychopaths from rich familys are lawyers and politicians.

I think the biggest indicator of ASPD, is the moment you are aware that their actions are purely selfish. Without shame. The lack of care, interest or empathy is telling. Test them with your questions. When someone shows you who they are, believe them.

Their eyes don't look dead all the time and they can be pretty sociable. There is their specific explosive, sudden anger/rage too

I witnessed blue eyes turn to black holes . I ran out of the room. They smile with their teeth, not their eyes.

I’m not convinced there as rare as people say they are met more more in my life already than I would’ve liked to

I was married to one for 21 years. One thing I noticed is how he would rewrite history. He literally punched me in the stomach and the next day he would look at me and say… what are you talking about? If you looked in his eyes, HE REALLY BELIEVED HE DID NOT DO IT. It was crazy.

I've realised my mum is a sociopath and narcissist. When my dad had a stroke, she "disappeared" to another country for years. Left me to care for him (and run her business). When dad died 8 yrs later, she arranged for his ashes to be spread on my birthday (!!). They were married for plus 50 years. Her response to why she chose my birthday her reply was "how am I suppose to know when it is your birthday"? And got upset how I dared to ask such a stupid question. Her birthday, on the other hand is the most important day of the year. (For me to arrange, at least during four days in advance plus buying expensive (has to be expensive presents). Last year, I asked her if she knew which day it was - she looked at me with a stone face and said "no". When I told her, she just starred at me. "Can't you at least congratulate me" I asked calmly. Dead silence. It happens every year... it doesn't hurt anymore. I made it a game to ask each year. I like myself. Basta.

I think that once you are attracted to a certain type of person, you tend to find others with the same tendencies. So be aware of that.

I have anti-social personality disorder and I have isolated myself for a while. The difference is that I love, absolutely, LOVE animals. But people? Nah, but I find it absolutely interesting that I'm placed in this category... but yet all of the people that were nasty to me throughout my life, from foster care, to meeting my biological family & their abuse towards me... the homelessness, the bad co-workers, etc., but yet I'm the threat? I am a psychopath. But so is everyone else. I've never met a sane person, despite trying to do so. I see everyone's ego, and their narcissism everywhere.

You're spot-on with the eye characteristics. When someone genuinely expresses an emotion (happiness, sadness, anger, etc), all face muscles are affected. But with psycho/sociopaths, it never reaches their eyes. Another red flag is how often they (don't) blink. I've dealt with several of these people firsthand, and it's one of the biggest things I've picked up on. I honestly think that's what gives people subconscious heebie-jeebies when in their presence. The eyes almost look like a toy doll's. Dull, without emotion, and lacking normal movement.

I got into a relationship with a psychopath. I had known her for ten years as a friend and it was like she pulled a mask off and behind it was absolute insanity. I have known a psychotic individual (classic 'crazy' who lives in a fantasy land.) The psychotic at least had humanity. The psychopath had none.

The ones in my family hide their aggression. One of the fastest (it's subtle so you have to be looking for it) way is their laugh is off. They laugh off cue during conversation. They also laugh at things that aren't funny to most people. For example, to them, its funny when others are hurt.

You nailed it: the dead-eye stare. Someone in my family is a true sociopath. She knows how to act as if she’s human. But she’s not.

The eyes..like looking into a dead fish’s eyes! Behind those dead fish eyes is a black hole..cold and soulless darkness

My ex husband had the crazy intense wide open blue eyes. I should have listened to my daughter who noticed it before I did. I had to get a restrain order and he still would not leave me alone. Praise God he finally leaves me alone now, maybe because I gained alot of weight 😂, but it worked to get rid of him.

You know what’s even crazier than the antisocial themselves is their family’s! Some of them I’ve met have family’s that often act as if the aspd person is normal despite knowing all the reckless toxic behavior they baby them and cater to them for some reason.

I have found that psychopaths and sociopaths is that they mimic others. It is like -- if I say something nice about someone then they will say something nice about that person too. Never do they come up with things on their own. If I say I love them, they will mimic it back to me. If their friends go to church they will also and claim to believe as they do. Those are just examples. Watch out for mimicry. They mimic feelings because in reality they have none.

My eyes are dead a lot of the time because im dissociating but I'm not a sociopath. I'm empathetic but with autism / adhd I worry people will assume I'm a murderer or narcissist with my cold dead eyes . But I'm just suffering. And I tell people im not ok right now (for about a year now) and im trying to find out how to feel more alive again. Ive had a couple long bouts of dissociation like this. This isnt the worst thankfully. But I'm just sayin. Dead eyes dont mean psychopath. I got burned out and I haven't been ok. But maybe telling people youre struggling and the fact that im not always distant dead eyed guy - is Enough for people to know im not evil. I hope. Trying to overcome without pharmacological intervention this time
