I love how they still have the original look and no technology things in it I wish more brands did this!

I had a 2014 Kia Sorento SX V6 and my engine blew up with almost 144, 000 miles. For about 2 1/2 years it would burn through 4 quarts of oil in about 1500 miles. I found a 2015 Jeep Patriot with 31, 500 miles in October 2021. Although I never even thought about ever owning a Patriot, the price was right. I am really happy with it. We had a couple challenging driving days this winter and it went through it like it was nothing. My Kia didn't perform like that with its all wheel drive system. Thank you for the video.

I have a 2016 Patriot Sport and all it has is the 4WD, A/C, Cruise, Heated Heats and Bluetooth. No power windows or locks, no fancy screen and no backup camera. No lane departure, blind spot sensors or any modern 'safety' features. It sucks on gas mileage but I don't care. It's been pretty reliable since I bought it new and I love the old school feel to it. Plus it looks better than anything else in its class. All SUVs now look like bubble spaceships.

We have a 2016 North Edition, almost 90 000km on it and zero problems. The car is pretty basic, no fancy stuff in it and it looks like a Jeep. Thats what we really like about it. We will keep it for a long time.

I'm the second owner of an 08 Patriot. Currently it has 160, 000 miles, 100, 000 of which I put on it myself. Only problem I have had is I replaced the front ball joints. Other than that no problems at all.

The XJ Cherokee was not body on frame. It was a unibody. I owned one and spent several hours underneath it.

I liked your review. But I disagree with some of your points. I have a 2015 Jeep Patriot Latitude. I have had it for two years. I love it very much. Very fun to drive and the inside dash is actually quite refreshing. Simplistic, yes. But it is very easy to figure out where everything is. Especially with the big AC/Heat controls. However, I agree with your assessment of the power it has, or lack there of. Mine has a 2.4 liter with Freedom Drive II. And it is sluggish when trying to get up to highway speeds. The engine does sound like it is trying very hard to move down the road. Once highway speeds are achieved, it is a good easy to handle drive. Steering is very responsive at all speeds. And when off road, it handles very well. Locking in the 4 wheel drive gives it much more ability to get to some of those harder to reach places. But, again, the CVT restrains the actual power when trying to climb on some of the steeper trails. Over all, a great vehicle with some minor drawbacks. One of those being the price tag. 10k for the one you show is WAAAAYY over priced.

Again, great review. Thank you for the video.

Theses things are under rated, less tech = less problems. 4wd does fine. Especially the 2.4 with a 6 speed transmission not the cvt. It does it’s job, I’ve seen people lift them as well about 2in and they look good. I rather a Patriot over a compass or the newer renagades any day.

I like my Patriot. Nice styling and handles well in the snow. What are those black wheels? They look sharp!

I had a 2008 Patriot, Manual everything. I really wanted to love it, but it got to the point where something was constantly needing replaced with the suspension or brakes. The engine was quite reliable though!

What they use is a "brake" Lock differential, all axles split torque equally through the differential & the engine can only deliver as much torque as it takes to turn the wheels, so if its on a slick surface or similar one wheel may turn, but not the other, its the equal torque division that causes this, stepping on the accelerator will only increase speed, not torque, so what modern systems use is brake application on the spinning wheel wheel (slipping wheel) to add extra torque to the other wheels that have more traction (until they slip causing a brake application) MacLaren indecently uses this system instead of a rear limited slip as to save weight and offer better torque vectoring control. Good review !!! I still like these for some strange reason!

I have a 2008 4x2 2.4L Patriot North (Canada) power everything except no sun roof. Tinted windows. It needed front end brake, suspension etc work, , shocks, struts, put new plugs, with 135K miles. Mechanic wanted to put in a new rack and pinon unit but said it was fine on the interim. I only paid $2, 200.00(CDN) But the engine is faithful. I put RESTORE oil conditioner and Lucas valve treatment in the gas. The engine is so quiet now. It's been a retirement project, I guess. It's amazing climbing over winter snow banks.
