Soul is what identifies you as a Human and Spirit is what identifies you as a Christian. The Soul sees that which is horizontal and the Spirit sees that which is vertical.

The Soul is concern for the Human needs and the Spirit is concerns for the things of God.

What did this talk have to do with dualism?

How about answer with this: Supposed science can break you in half and can make each half alive and regenerate, which one is you? Consciousness is not just material.

That didn't answer the man's question in the slightest. The response was basically "well atheists can't answer the question of duality either".

It takes an immortal(Perfection) to create something mortal(imperfection)

No, we're body and spirit, which makes a living soul.

The same way information manifests into a physical medium.

Our brain is the physical medium where our spirit manifests.

His answer and argument falls apart when saying that theism is the answer to morality. Morality comes from the basic fact that humans are stronger together. We have empathy as a strength, as a strength of nurturing ourselves and those around us. This doesn't come from theism, this comes from our physical minds and how we have evolved to act.

The dude dosen't answer the question. The proper material view is that all the things he mentioned are a product of material circumstance.

Relativism is a self defeating world view.

So the way to defend or explain dualism is... to turn it around and attack monism instead?

This doesn't make sense to me. The answers about consciousness within a monist perspective might not all be complete, but we've still made great progress in this respect (we know that certain areas of the physical brain control certain aspects of consciousness, that our consciousness is affected by certain chemicals, etc).

Compare this to dualism, which doesn't provide *any* answers to these questions, because we can't even be sure of what a "soul" is, let alone confirm its existence, or in any way verify what parts of our consciousness interact with it, and it what ways.

Sean Carrol said there is no known physics where we see anything to indicate a mind without the brain..(see debate caroll vs craig) fortheloveofchrist, I rephrase it so it's more clear.

Frank forgot to demonstrate that any of the things he claimed as immaterial are actually immaterial.

But as a Christian, I'm asking where do our brains, as humans, fit into all of this?

If someone pinches u 1 time for no reason once, you'll feel pain. if that someone pinches you once, twice and 1 thousand time, you'll start to form pure anger to hatred and you'll want to eliminate him. That's how justice rise. from pain, discomfort etc... and we humans are thinking beings. we'll find ways to group up to eradicate the pain, discomfort etc. thats the formation of religion, laws, governments. and for some, we'll attribute this source of justice to the ultimate being. but its just that we want to explain our dislikes for suffering and discomforts.

The Good and Evil in this world believe the same thing. The lost are the poor because they are basically atheists with the wrong title when they don't follow either path. That's why the true good people can manipulate their surroundings and help others with their own success because God's hand rules them not industry. At least the evil give God the credit of his existence which is why they are also successful. However they will always be left unsatisfied and only further their own deterioration.

If society determines morality, which is non physical, then society can also determine a creator. The premise is the same, assuming that society is God. If the physical determines the non physical, why would anyone argue that God doesn't exist? The answer is quite simple; society has the cake, and it will eat it too. But the theist only has a mental cake and can never taste it.
