in India we call Fennel seeds and we call Cumin seeds "Jeera" .... so if you hear someone say "JalJeera" it is a summer drink made using a spice mix of powdered spices and of course mainly Buna hua Jeera or Roasted Cumin i had one family friend, who was also my classmate for three years in grade school, whose mother would boil Cumin Seeds in water and then use that water to drink due to the digestive and cooling properties it had on the body and the this is normally either coated with a hard sugar coating that is either coloured or just plain while sometimes when you visit Indian restaurants you get packets of "mouth fresheners" or "after meal mints" it's just sugar coated Fennel seeds that have a "Spearmint" flavour and fragrance added to the coating.... This is normally used as already mentioned "Mouth Fresheners" or "After Meal Mints" due to the fact that it helps in not just taking away the smell of the meal that you just had.... for example: if you just had onions or fish and you go to your girlfriend or boyfriend and the minute you open your mouth, your girlfriend or boyfriend ends up suddenly running away from you because of how your breath smells.... so yeah, that some times helps with bad and also Saunf or Fennel seeds act as digestives as well, something similar to Cumin (BTW, try dry roasting cumin seeds and powder it and then add that to what ever spice blend powder mix you are using and there will be a lot of difference between when you just use cumin powder that is just made from cumin seeds that have not been But well, in India we use both Roasted Cumin Seed powder as well as just the Regular un-roasted Cumin Seed powder in our due to the taste and flavour and also it also depends on the recipe or food you are making this is just a few tips i learnt from my mum and by watching so many food recipe videos and spice blend recipe videos)

I bought a bottle but it seems like they put way too much cinnamon in it. Badia brand. Is it supposed to smell and taste like cinnamon?
