1. *Bath* (a beautiful classical city built in honey-coloured stone with 2000 year old Roman Baths),
2. *The Cotswolds* (a region containing hundreds of gorgeous historic stone villages and towns; surrounded by rolling green countryside),
3. *York* (a well preserved medieval city with a huge gothic cathedral),
4. *Cambridge and Oxford* (two beautiful historic cities with world renowned medieval universities that you are able to tour),
5. *A Stately Home* (e.g. “Baroque”: Chatsworth House, Blenheim Palace, Castle Howard; “Tudor”: Burghley House, Knole House, Hardwick Hall; “Medieval”: Haddon Hall, Penshurst Place, Berkeley Castle etc),

England is beautiful but in particular Northern England is so underrated, from the Peak District, to bowland, to the Yorkshire moors and dales, then up into the Lake District. If you like urban areas there’s: Manchester, York, Liverpool, Newcastle, Lancaster, Leeds etc. Also the small little towns and villages like: Windermere, Castleton, Whitby etc. The north is overlooked so much and it saddens me, especially since our economy’s would benefit from more tourism. If you’re ever visiting England or the UK in general you should definitely try somewhere up north too.

In particular the North East of England has some hidden gems. I prefer the lake district if I go to the trouble to venture that way, but like I said, there are some great hidden gems on the north east..
