We Germans normally are very self-critical with our country. It's good to remind ourselves that we are surrounded by so many beautiful places. Maybe that would give us some peace. By the way, I like how you make an effort to pronounce the names correctly, you've picked quite a few tricky ones (Berchtesgaden, Speicherstadt!) Good job. Some of my favourite spots are Görlitz, Oybin, the Spreewald and Bamberg.

Even as a bavarian i have to tell you, that when you have the chance to take the train from Mainz to Cologne, you have to do it. I have done it once and it was awesome. You see so many castles and the train is driving the whole time near the river Rhine. Thanks for this amazing Video and keep up the good work.

My favorite German city to visit is Trier. It has roman ruins mixed with beautiful German architecture. Truly a gem of a city.

We lived in Germany for over a year some years ago and traveled as much as we could while we were there. We did a LOT of Castle hopping as well. I loved the Liechtenstein castle near Stuttgart. We visited many of the places that you showed in your video. We also loved Triberg which has the highest waterfalls in the country. The people were kind and helpful to us Americans. I tried to learn a few words of the language but it's very, very difficult. Most of the time, the Germans wanted to practice their English with us... and curiously, they spoke MUCH better English than we spoke German. :)

Great video. I recommend the northern part of Germany as well, for example the North Frisian islands (Amrum, Föhr) and their picturesque houses!

from a guy who has been living in Germany for almost 6 years now, this list is quite good, I don't know if I could do such a list given that fact that there are so many amazing places around here, but one thing I would have included for sure is visiting the MittelRheintal region from Koblenz to Rüdesheim, this is one of the best places in Germany, full of castles and riding alongside the river Rhine within mountains, is just too great to miss. I have also some videos from Germany on my channel if anyone is interested!

I was born and raised in (west-) Berlin, travelled all over the country for many years (including visiting literally every place you showed us in this vid - plus some) and finally ended up buying a house near Bodensee, the most beautiful area (to me) in Germany.

You know that the North has quite a number of beautiful places as well, especially Mecklenburg-Vorpommern which is the state with the highest density of manors and palaces. Also there's an unbelievable amount of lakes, not to mention most of Germany's Baltic sea coast

As a Saxon, I would add Leipzig and the Elbsandsteingebirge (Elbe Sandstone Mountains).

The latter one has got a beautiful scenery and it's a famous place for hiking and climbing. The Saxon part of the Erzgebirge, which is practically next door of the Elbsandsteingebirge, also has a lot of cultural features to offer – especially when it comes to wooden crafts.

Leipzig is a city in the north-west part of Saxony and offers a lot of culture and history as well. There are the Monument of the Battle of the Nations (Völkerschlachtdenkmal), the famous restaurant Auerbachs Keller, the Panometer, the Opera and Gewandhaus at the Augustusplatz, the Leipzig Bonatical Garden and many more sights.

Outside of Saxony, but also in East Germany, I can recommend the Hanse Sails in Rostock. It's a huge event that's held every August and it attracts countless people every year.

1. Rothenberg, make sure you do the night watchman tour and all the museums, (especially the torture museum) this is a must..
2.Munich, make sure you visit Dachau. (pay your respects and learn )
3.Berchtesgaden, don't forget The Eagles Nest. More people visit this place annually than Graceland's. And due to weather it has a smaller window of opportunity to visit it.
4. Berlin, you can do a free (it is done by donation) tour of Berlin with a guides that meets at the Brandenburg gates around 9.00 a.m. well worth it.
5. Hamburg, make sure you visit the Reeperbahn, St. Nicholas, St. Michaels, the museum and the worlds biggest model railway, if you really want to experience Hamburg, make sure you attend a St Pauli football match.
6. Fussen, just splendid. Make sure you pre book admission to Neuschwanstein Castle to skip the line, well worth it.
7. But it doesn't matter, anywhere in Germany is beautiful.
