I can’t even imagine how crushing and heartbreaking it would be to realize THAT is the person you’ve just had a child with.

After a friend of mine gave birth, our friend group gave her a couple of days to get settled at home before visiting her. Husband was nowhere to be seen. The 4 of us cleaned the house did the laundry, picked up groceries (the asshat has bought only beer) & diapers and watched the baby while she had a much needed shower and sleep. They separated 6 months later.

That" not a chance" is SOLID. I hope she stood her ground

I love that she just matter of fact said “not a chance”.

"But you're better at it." Man is totally weaponizing his incompetence.

He doesn’t realise but she will NEVER EVER FORGET THIS MOMENT… We, women, NEVER EVER FORGET how people treat us before and after birth…

“….my first meal of the day” really says it all… poor girl

Divorce is the only right answer from this point on because she will be raising the baby and doing everything by herself anyway, might as well be single doing it

"When I get back from binge drinking, I'll tell you exactly why you should divorce me."
That's what I heard him say.

"I'm going to the pub" to give you time to pack up and leave.
Time to calculate child support.

"If you gaslight, you'd better expect a fire." Great quote.

I love that she isn’t going to take his BS! Respect is not one sided.
Sweet little momma, you are not his mother…let the little ungrateful twerp clean up after himself. You take care of your precious newborn.❤

Good on her for standing her ground. That guy needs to grow up.

"you're better at it"
Exactly the reason why he should do it, so that he can be just as good at it 😊

I’m so proud of my husband. The day after I gave birth and brought our baby girl home, he told me to rest and took care of all the chores. I could see how exhausted he was, so I insisted on helping, even though he gently refused at first. My sweet husband, I love him so much. ❤

I bet he's gonna tell his buddies "She's nagging all day for me to clean, nag nag nag"
And they're all gonna be supportive of him

That's weaponized incompetence line of "you're better at it" absolutely boils my blood. I heard it far too often from my ex-husband.

He has time to go to the pub and time to make a to-do list for his wife, who is postpartum, but doesn't have time to clean or help in any way? Got it. 👍

Wow, this makes me appreciate my husband and family so much more. I have six children. My husband used vacation time to stay home with me and wouldn’t let me pick up anything but baby for a week. My mom came and visited us for two weeks to take care of everyone when he went back to work. My church family brought in meals for three days.
