In this video, I want to cover the four biggest benefits of pistachios.

Pistachios are actually the seed of a fruit. But, we’re going to refer to them as nuts because that’s what people are used to.

The 4 biggest health benefits of pistachios:
1. Pistachios have the lowest oxalates of all the nuts

2. Pistachios are very high in potassium, phosphorus, zinc, vitamin k1, vitamin B6, vitamin B1, folate, vitamin E, vitamin C, chlorophyll, and magnesium

3. Pistachios are a good source of amino acids and healthy fats

4. Pistachios have antioxidants

I respect Dr. Berg. I was a glutton & overweight with a 39" waist. After watching Dr. Berg, I am doing 20/4 IF for the last 12 months. I take 2 meals in my 4 hour feeding window. My diet is nuts, wholegrains, fruits, veggies & yogurt. Lost 14 kg & shrunk to 33" waistline in 12 months. Am happy, full of energy. All my stress is gone, I AM LIVING MY BEST LIFE. FOOD WAS MY CURSE, FOOD WAS IMPRISONING ME. I AM NOW FULLY LIBERATED, I AM NO MORE A SLAVE.

I am in IT pro but since I started watching these video, it seems I am also a medical student as I remember more medical terms than IT terminologies. Thanks, Dr Berg.

I love Pistachios! They have an incredibly hard shell, in fact if you have a problem with a slightly opened pistachio, just use the edge of another shell to pry it open, it works a treat :)

Dr. Berg
It is truly an honor to watch your videos. I love pistachios and I was worried about the effects nuts have on liver/kidneys. Very glad to hear I can eat pistachios :)

I noticed most of the comments are from people that can't stop once they start. One trick I've learned that works really well for me, ( on nuts, not candy) as soon as I get a bag of nuts of any kind I put them in snack bags so when I want some I grab a bag and go to another room.

One huge problem with pistachios is that once I start eating them I don't stop. A bag of unshelled? Forget it-that bag is gone.

I was literally contemplating buying pistachios this morning while shopping. I actually ended up with almonds, hazelnut, brazil seed, cashews and walnuts. Next time I'll get some pistachios I really like them with a little salt on anyway. Thanks for the video, now got a good excuse to eat some pistachios! Love your video's, always informative.

Dear Mr Berg: I have 2 questions on pistacios: 1. should we eat them roasted or raw ? 2. Could I Use them for low carb baking recipes instead of other nuts like almonds or half and half with almonds?

This is good news. I was thinking "oh dear, too many carbs in pistachios." Since I can't chew well I put them in a dish in the morning and cover with some filtered water. In the afternoon I remove the water and eat with a spoon. Incredible snack.
