In this week's video I talk about how much I hate applying for jobs and interviewing for them! It is a long, annoying process that does not make any sense to me and feels like a huge waste of a time usually.
For one, it's hard to find jobs because you don't know what positions are open and what ones are not so then you just apply to a million and probably none of them are looking at the applications. It would be okay if it didn't take forever to apply.. Why do they make you upload a resume and then fill out all those boxes with every single thing you listed on your resume?? ANNOYING. And they ask you stuff that they will ask you again in the interview. Just read my frickin resume that I spent FOREVER on!
While we're on the subject, interviews really friggin annoy me as well. It would be okay if they just wanna get to know you and see if your personality fits in the office (so ask me my favorite movies then!), but they ask you crazy, super hard questions that probably will never be relevant.. Like all the stuff they ask you about yourself and if you have the right skills is pointless because everyone is going to say they are perfect for the job. Don't even bother asking me what one of my weaknesses are cuz you're just going to get another strength. The better you are at b.s.-ing (bull-shitting) how amazing and perfect you are, the better you will do in the interview.
My suggestion is for businesses to just start exclusively hiring walk-ins because you like the same movies, or something along those lines. Note: This probably wouldn't work if you need someone with a particular set of skills or advanced education...
