Learning to ride off-road isn't always smooth! In this video, I take my motorcycle off the beaten path for some off-road practice, but things don’t go quite as planned when I end up stuck in the mud. Watch as I navigate this messy situation, share some beginner tips, and reflect on what went wrong and how to avoid it in the future. Off-road riding is full of challenges, but that's all part of the adventure!

Momentum is your friend in off-road you need to stop hesitating and overthinking sometimes the best route is straight through ❤️

when pcking it up from the right hand side, put the side stand down first and make sure it's in first gear, Then the bike cannot fall away from you. It saves you having to balance it on your hip.

Your not alone Saffy, dropped mine in the mud today, thankfully no damage, just a bruised ego

Mind over mud! ; "throttle on ... mud .. keep going ... throttle on" ...Love it. And 'bollocks' is such an adaptable expression, use it regularly meself. Well done you. Keep the "throttle on" and enjoying the adventure.

As a man, this is not a problem I ever had. ( picking up my motorcycle ) . So it's really interesting to see how something I never had to worry about ( thought it so simple ) can be such a challenge for people with a smaller build . BTW your talking to yourself style works very well on YouTube ! I think you burst out crying because you were almost hyperventilating at the end . The crying was the release of the tension . Well done Saffy . 😀

Good job Saffron. I imagine you were crying from relief that you made it out without something else happening. Also, never be ashamed to ask for help in a sticky situation. You're getting there. Take care. Ride safe!

I carry a good length of "tow rope" in my self-recovery kit. Sometimes you can tie on a wheel or the frame and drag the bike to a better position from a spot where you have better footing. Or, wrap it around a tree and hoist it. If the bike breaks down in the middle of a trail you can use the rope to tow the bike by a buddy. Strength for weight and diameter synthetic is the way to go. Climbing rope is usually abrasion resistance and works well. There are a couple of companies that make them specifically for this use with ends on the rope designed to attach to various parts of a bike easily.

That spot is kind of tricky, the mud creates suction and makes the bike upwards of twice it's normal weight or more in some situations. Putting some meat on those bones might have helped. She-hulk Saffy. lol

The one thing I love about you is... no matter how many times you drop your bike you always get back on again.. many's a person would have given up biking. Good un ya, 😊

You just need forwards momentum. And your back wheel can lockup in 1st on grass or mud if you let off the revs because of the higher engine torque. Id only use 1st on a steep hill So you are best being in 2nd or 3rd to avoid the rear wheel locking up. And power through it.

Arm strength doesn't matter if your technique is good. Leg strength is all you need. Nice job, we all find ourselves in places we maybe shouldn't be, sometimes you've just got to figure out how to get out lol.

Been in the same position after a drop, it sucks when you can't lift it for whatever reason. More off road biased tires help in mud or larger rocks. They are a game changer 😀

Grit and determination Saffy and the ubiquitous dog walker to the rescue. Hope you did not aggravate your rib injury at all. Great perseverance.

Maybe Honda could lend you a quad. They're pretty stable at low speed. Instead of a sheepdog on the back you could take your cat. 😊You were going well on the dry parts of the track. But you've got it into your head that mud equals disaster and you're slowing right down or stopping. Blast through it at the same speed as the dry - these bikes are called dirt bikes for a reason.
