How to get in and out of trouble with your motorcycle

I'll show you the best way to test if you and your bike are ready for a real adventure. I’ve learnt how important it is to focus on preparing yourself for when things don’t go to plan.

It's important to get a feel for what it means to suffer … thirsty, hungry, exhausted, boiling hot or freezing cold, you need to know what it means to suck it up and get it done when there’s no one around to do it for you.

For the past few weeks, I’ve been preparing my T7 World Raid for a mission across Australia with one of my mates. I kinda know what to expect, all the more reason I’m battle-prepping the bike.

I’ve had something similar happen to me last winter. Driving on a frozen river (ice studs) I broke through. Front tire broke through and I got sent flying over the bars, bike slowly sank to the bottom of the river as the ice below the bike gave way. . Luckily only 4-5’ deep. I dragged the bike across the muddy river bed, in chest deep freezing water up to the shore while breaking up ice as I went along.
Long story short managed to get the bike up top of the ice and started on a long walk back to the highway where I was able to be picked up.
Bike had to spend the day along the river bank until I could retrieve it next day.
Drz lived on drained the fuel and oil and she was ready for more adventures

Cheers

I can't even imagine the physical but mostly the mental strength required in order to be out there all alone in these conditions and keep going! You are trully an inspiration and a true legend...keep going!!! Greeting from Greece!

Just said to my husband, I nearly can’t watch this… I’ve never wanted to crawl thru the tv & help someone so much in my life!! Great video, it’s honest that you don’t edit the worst situation out like a lot of people would! 👏🏻👏🏻

You are fantastic. You get a 200 kilogram motorcycle out of the water yourself!
I ride enduro all year round. But my bike is 100 kg.
This is the only cure for my multiple sclerosis. which I have had for 7 years.
I'm watching from Ukraine

Can we all spend a moment to appreciate the modern technology of drones that follow the rider, avoid trees and tall grasses and adjust itself perfectly? Holy cow. You're a massive inspiration to go out and explore, Adam :)

Time spent on recce is never wasted. The only thing I can say is... 'They say you are what you eat, and you, Sir, just ate a f*^ing legend.' What a phenomenal effort getting the bike out of that river. You have my utmost respect!

Needed this in my personal life Adam, not just for the motorcycle adventures, the first two minutes of what you said are gold. Can't wait to see the memories you're going to share on this upcoming adventure. As a retired Army veteran I appreciate your insights mate, many, many times I've had to suck it up, adapt & overcome, cheers from the U.S. 🤙

Thanks for showing us not everything we try is easy. But if we stick with it, we can get there. You are the Man.

Your videos are just so damn inspiring, I'm selling everything, buying a T7, and traveling the world... OK maybe not, my back just can't handle that anymore, but I love your videos, the no BS, no half assing anything.

Adam, I have been following you from the beginning, and whilst I totally get you don't need it yourself (yet), please consider talking about the Eastbound Moto-Winch because a lot of people like myself (who sadly ain't 25 years old anymore but like go on solo RTW adventures), might like to have the reassurance that when TSHTF, if all else fails, they can always use it to pick up their bike. Maybe they never use it, but psychologically, when riding alone, for less than 1.5 kilos of weight, it is a major reassurance. BTW, when I was 22, I rode around 23, 000 kms around OZ, Perth to Perth, via Sydney, Melbourne, Cairns, Darwin and everywhere else, and I know that the lying out in the Nullarbor looking up at the billions of stars in a perfect clear night sky will always remain the most inspiring memory of my entire time on this planet.

This guys production value and editing is insane if he does this all by himself legend isn’t even a good enough word to describe him

I remember a insta lass who I won't name, but has thousands of subscribers, who off roads in the UK, caught in a small rut, and said it was impossible to get the bike out and it took 3 people to lift the bike out, I said just push it over and drag it, she said no it wouldn't work, seeing what you do, I know it works, but instead just got loads of abuse in return, there are those that can and those that talk pesh, great video Adam
