Happened to me today on my 1989 Honda CBR 600 (Hurricane) w/ only 18K miles. Only noticed it happening maybe once before. Got stuck in neutral from shifting to 2nd and couldn't get out easily. Grinded the gears a bit (that was painful to hear) but eventually got it to budge. I'll have to remember the method for next time. Thanks.

I'm not experienced with bikes but looks like your shifter is out of adjustment . that or depending on if you have hydolic clutch it could have a valve leak . If it mechanical could be a cable Can't say for sure as I said not experienced with bikes

I have a slightly different problem, it's not a constant issue but it happens spontaneously and it's quite annoying. I usually start very quickly off the lights and shift up rapidly. However, sometimes as I gear into 2nd, my shifter gets stuck at neutral and requires another shift to proceed to 2nd gear. I sometimes get caught out and instead of accelerating rapidly, I end up reving at 9k rev/min while barely rolling forward. I have a YBR 125 by the way, max cc at age 18 in UK.

Nope mechanical clutch, its happened at least once on every bike ive ridden and owned, its just a fluke thing. It took me 15 minutes of going from first to neutral to get it to get stuck hahaha. Thanks for the comments.

Rev the gas pedal to redline, and smash shifter with hammer, and ride thru back wall the debris pointy sharp metals etc, will fix shifter.

Haha yeah, my brain and my mouth sometimes tend to not be wired together im guessing. I said it right in my head hahaha.

My bike goes into gear but won’t catch the throttle, it just revs like it’s in neutral

I think it does work like that. My problem is the opposite. It won't go back to Neutral when needed. I'll try that. I think I already did but, can't recall. Maybe too many Miller high lights. Hehehe!
