Writing a Quadratic Equation in Vertex Form

In this short video, I show how to write a quadratic equation in vertex form. I use the formula h = -b/2a to find the vertex of the quadratic equation, then I use the formula y = a(x-h)^2 + k to express the quadratic equation in vertex form.

This is one of the faster methods that prevents one from making trivial mistakes that could come about from using the completing the square method. And let’s not forget the other method, (if the quadratic roots are given, without the equation) where finding the midpoint from the roots we can know the symmetrical x axis, and thereby find the y vertex point as well.
