Today I am making my version of Bo Luc Lac also known as Shaking Beef. This Vietnamese dish is one of my favorites and can be easy to make.The beef is so flavorful and tender. I usually serve this with a side of steamed rice and a simple cucumber salad dressed with fresh lime juice.

POT USED in video (same brand different style pot)

INGREDIENTS
2 lbs (907 g) beef ribeye steak
7 cloves (36 g) garlic minced
1 1/2 tsp black pepper
2 stalks scallions
2 medium tomatoes
1 small red onion
2 1/2 to 3 TBSP oil (I used 30 g of beef tallow)
1 TBSP unsalted butter (14 g)

MARINADE/SAUCE
4 TBSP (60 mL) oyster sauce
1 1/2 TBSP (22 mL) fish sauce
1 1/2 TBSP (22 mL) dark soy sauce
1 TBSP (12 g) sugar or brown sugar
1 TBSP (15 mL) hot water

-Combine and mix oyster sauce, fish sauce, dark soy sauce and hot water
- Cut ribeye steak in to 1 inch chunks.
-In a bowl combine beef steak chunks, minced garlic, pepper and marinade sauce. Mix well.
-Marinate the beef for at least 30 minutes
-Cut onion, scallions and tomatoes in large chunks and set aside
-Preheat skillet or wok and add oil or fat of your choice
-To your very hot skillet add marinated meat in a single layer. Do not over crowd your pan. Cook in batches if necessary
-Cook your meat to desired doneness
-Once meat is done, add scallions, tomatoes, onions and unsalted butter
-cook until butter is melted and coats the meat and veggies
-This serves 4 comfortably. ENJOY!
