Ingredients:
500g beef (sirloin/ filet mignon/ rib eye) cut into 1-inch cubes
1 tbsp + 1 tsp minced garlic
2 tsp sugar
a pinch of salt
2 tbsp soya sauce
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1/2 tsp pepper
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 bell pepper, cut into 1″ squares

Garnishes
1 red onion, finely sliced
1 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp vinegar (5% acid)
lettuce or watercress
1 tomato, thinly sliced

My wife and myself are keen followers of your cooking videos, my wife is Vietnamese but with limited cooking skills as her mother did all the cooking at home.  We are now living in Australia and we learn how to cook the nice dishes you post.  Thank you for the efforts you make to help us and many other people about cooking Vietnamese dishes as we enjoy watching then cooking together in our kitchen.

I love this dish. I like it best over watercress. And you can take it in a lot of directions. I'm going to make this tonight. I'll pack it for lunch. It's the perfect dish to show my wife I am thinking of her!

Ive tried many recipes on YouTube and this is by far the best! Tbh, just because its a Vietnamese dish, it doesnt mean that it must have fish sauce. Most recipes call for fish sauce and to me it gives it a weird smell.

Omg, you were right. the fish sauce gave it a stinky fish smell and it was edible but very salty.

I'm definitely investing in a bottle of oyster sauce! Thanks Helen!
