There are a lot more than 6, but the 6 rules that I’ve chosen for this video are long the most important to keep in mind. Graphic design is an industry of creativity and artistic flow, but it is also precise and thus there are unwritten rules you need to follow.

Rule 1: Use vectors for scalability
Rule 2: Use right color combination. (Search on internet about the right ones(!) )
Rule 3: Ensure right space between letters
Rule 4: Never stretch fonts
Rule 5: Give typography, enough room/white space.
Rule 6: Don't use lot of different fonts. Max 3. Recommended 2.

Ok I’ll admit it. I’m guilty of occasionally stretching type. Now, I don’t do it to an extreme like in the examples you showed, but sometimes just a little, just to fit the type around other type or elements in the design. But I’ll definitely look at it differently now. Thanks!

Another great video Satori, and being completely self taught, I've learnt these things the hard way :) The kerning rule is a good one, but I think my graffiti past (back in the 80's) helps me a lot with that.

One pet hate I have is designers who place text too close to the edge of the paper. As a rule with business cards we use 5mm, A5/A4/A3 a minimum of 10mm, otherwise it makes it impossible to cut, unless you want a text effect to bleed off the paper of course.

It’s only been recently I’ve played around with the kerning of a typeface and it became second nature very quickly especially once I learnt the shortcut for it in Illustrator

Stretching typography makes me cringe I instantly know whose not a true designer when they do that! I've learned no more than 3 fonts In a document! I even made A poster for it in college lol I should make it again just because of this video ! Again feel better brother

Thanks for the video! Even though some of us might know these rules it`s always good to be reminded to them! I also learnt most of them through trial-error but your videos are a huge help! I like it that you keep them short and concise, it`s easier to follow!

Please please keep talking and showing the process in them - those tutorials with only loud electronic music in the background are not even close to yours quality-wise!
