Windows 7 Computer

This computer is a Gigabyte Chassis from 2010 running Windows 7 Home Premium . The version of Microsoft Office installed is Microsoft Office 2010 Professional. The web browsers installed on this computer are the latest versions of Palemoon and Firefox at the time of recording. The version of Google Chrome that is installed is the last version before the end of support from Google.

Windows 7 is the successor to Windows Vista released in 2009. Windows 7 is built on the NT 6.0 codebase. Windows 7 introduced new features to Windows such as Windows Snap as well as many upgrades to the user interface itself such as a new improved taskbar and a refresh of many control panel features making the system far easier to use and more stable. Windows 7 would be supported by Microsoft until 2020 and versions of Windows 7 such as Windows 7 Professional could get additional updates until 2023 however a user would have to pay for these updates. Windows 7 went on to be a very successful version of Windows due to its stability and ease of use, as a result Windows 7 is still in use by many people and is still a favorite of many others.

Windows 7 was my first ever operating system, i grew up with it for a long time and now i am still using it yet to this day on my personal computer.

The fact that now even windows 7 is now considered a retro operating system makes me sad, it was the last Microsoft operating system that was actually be good.

I left Windows 7 last year just for security reasons and updates. Good days, it happened many good things on 7: last aeroglass system, good music samples on media player, last time we saw MSN Messenger in action, Windows Live applications.

The last time I installed Windows 7 was back in 2010, so this vid was certainly a trip down memory lane! One of the best incarnations of Windows that MS introduced imho.

All the transparency effects in Pale Moon make me realise how much better looking the Aero theme was in Windows 7. I kind of want to get an old Windows 7 machine to install old software like office 2010, Pivot, Scratch, RM software etc as a sort of time capsule of computing as a child. I remember every day going on the Windows 7 Dell computer and playing Club Penguin with my friends or doing word art on the school computer in Word 2010.

I’d really like to have a time-accurate desk setup like you do for each OS. The old rubber-dome keyboard, square LCD monitor etc I remember the school computer class being filled up with. Alongside the “da ding, da ding!” sound effect playing on every computer as they started up. I can remember the educational software we used, like Education City, Purple Mash, Espresso, Skooville, Pivot and RM Education software. Plus, a Windows “genie” application that I remember literally everyone immediately starting up, it would cause the old Genie helper from Office XP to appear, and read things off the screen that the mouse hovered over.

What we see here, is that Windows10 and Windows11 are Windows7.
Microsoft have added only another number after Windows.

Windows 7 was the first operating system I used on my mom’s work laptop! I have nostalgic memories using it when I was little! Windows 7 is and will always be my favorite windows operating systems of all time! Better than 11, and way better than 10! And I still use it to this day
