Happy Autumn Equinox!

In todays practice, we honor the Autumn equinox but first we must give thanks to all that unfolded for us during the summer solstice. This practice, is an opportunity for you to turn inward and reflect on all the highs and lows you experienced during the summer as we move into autumn, a more dormant, cold and darker phase/season. So really take this opportunity to connect more deeply with yourself.

In TCM, Autumn is associated with the lung and large intestine meridians (respiration & elimination) so we will be targeting these energy lines for this class.

What is Yin Yoga? Yin yoga is MAGIC. Well, that is how I would describe it. Yin yoga is a practice that that allows you to go beyond the superficial layers of the body and access the deeper layers. This means in a Yin Yoga practice you are going beyond the muscles and right into the deep connective tissues of the body. Our connective tissues are made up of fascia, ligaments and tendons which surround and form our joints. Therefore, when you practice Yin Yoga you are able to increase your range of motion, your flexibility and strengthen your joints. A win win! If you ask me. Yin yoga is more than stretching, we are “stressing” the connective tissues and we do this with longer holds and intuitive breathing.

When practicing always remember

1. Meet the pose at YOUR edge (gradually)
2. Find stillness and focus on your breath
3. Resolve to be still

It's Autumn here in Chile and I was looking for a practice to embrace this new season, i especially loved the elbow to knee stretch, never done before, thank you for this Autumn special! Peace🕊

Really wanted to do this yesterday but time was against me! As it is, the weather was properly autumnal today and I did this to the sound of rain, so it was lovely. I didn't realise the class had finished either, I was just chilling out in savasana for ages, blissful!

Awww this will be my tomorrow Monday morning new class, can’t waiiiit 🤩🥰
It’s funny to live in 2 different continents with huge time differences, our yoga class times are totally opposite 😂
