I'm an old guy, retired and even without the stay at home restrictions, I have a lot of time on my hands. I decided to try Linux on my old Mac and after trying many distros I think I like POP OS the best. Thanks for this video. You are very helpful.

Your distro reviews are very professional and well made. Great stuff. Cheers.

I wish Ubuntu did the same thing with the drop-down menu in their store to differential between the repo and the snap. as Pop_OS does. It is much more respectful to the user and you can still push for snaps if Ubuntu wanted to do this.

I just want to point out that all the "work" being done to optimize boot times is merely the distro's switch from using grub to systemd-boot as the default bootloader. This has positives and negatives: systemd-boot starts up faster, but grub enables easier access to kernel flags and has more options.

After years of playing with Linux installs. I never really felt excited about leaving Windows for Linux. Multi screen support always sucked and just felt laggy in general. POP OS! changed this. I finally decided to fully switch over to Linux from Windows. Great job POP OS team!!

The installation process is really fast. Like really really fast. I had a full operated system in 6 minutes. WOW. Btw, interestingly, that steam Flatpak it is not included. Steam Flatpak needs 1-2 steps configuration in order to access external drivers etc, so It’s really cool that system76 offers a user friendly experience.

I am playing through Final Fantasy 6 as I saw this video and clicked it to watch, because it had FF6 in the thumbnail.

I really like the newer cleaner look for FF6. FFIV, with its 3D look I have played through on my 7" tablet. It was neat, but I don't know if I like it better, but I got used to it. I haven't played it on the PC yet, but I'm guessing I will not like it as much, and find it clunkier on the PC. Regardless, they are both still great games.

I have been running Pop!_OS for over a year now, and its my favorite distrobution. I've kept Ubuntu on my desktop for gaming, but I'm going to switch it over to Pop!_OS 20.04 as well, so my laptop and desktop are in sync.

This is my go to Linux channel. I love your content bro. I'm new to Linux currently switching between MX/Mint and they're the best os's i've ever used. I do miss Windows sometimes but it's getting worse with each update. It's filled with too much unnecessary bs imo.

I just wish it provided a slim theme. Man those title bars are just huge.

I just installed Pop OS a few days ago and it's been a good experience. I agree, the auto printer detection and setup is a nice touch. The only other distro that setup my printer seamlessly was Solus. So for I'm enjoying this distro very much.

Great video! Some things to add (this is coming from a tiling WM user). We don't keep multiple applications running in a single workspace, otherwise it becomes busy as you mentioned. We use workspaces extensively. I use 10 myself. Many tiling WM have the ability to assign applications to certain workspaces so that we don't even have to "hunt" for an application among multiple workspaces.

Another workflow that some users prefer is switching between fullscreen to tiling mode. We have multiple windows in the screen, but we keep the active window in full-screen and switch when neccessary.

Using these multiple workflow requires some custom configuration. I hope Pop_OS allows that level of customization. I personally am looking forward to play with it.

If I am not wrong, for getting to the search feature in gnome, all you need to do is press the super key and start typing. You don't need you go to the activities hot corner. I really like the gnome search( after disabling some of the things ) it makes opening hidden behind layes and layers of folders very easy. This is the only reason I use gnome

Flatpak support is awesome! It’s been annoying searching for an app in the shop and find that it isn’t there, then going to flathub and installing via command line. Access to flatpaks natively is a big time saver.

I use the tiling display feature across two 1080p monitors. If you develop Web applications using multiple APIs, a database client, and a couple of browsers open, the tiling is invaluable.
